Recalling the hype and commercials IndyCar and Novo Nordisk made when Charlie Kimball won his IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio a couple years back, how is NASCAR not putting Daytona Xfinity winner Ryan Reed out there as the first Type 1 diabetic to win one of its national touring series races? Or has another Type 1 diabetic won before in NASCAR that I'm not aware of? I would've thought the NASCAR marketing machine would be on maximum overdrive for this, especially to take some of the spotlight off Kyle's accident in that race.

Reed wasn't hyped to begin with, unlike Kyle Larson or Chase Elliott. Ryan Reed is basically considered "just another guy who brings sponsorship in the Xfinity series".
