Recalling the hype and commercials IndyCar and Novo Nordisk made when Charlie Kimball won his IndyCar race at Mid-Ohio a couple years back, how is NASCAR not putting Daytona Xfinity winner Ryan Reed out there as the first Type 1 diabetic to win one of its national touring series races? Or has another Type 1 diabetic won before in NASCAR that I'm not aware of? I would've thought the NASCAR marketing machine would be on maximum overdrive for this, especially to take some of the spotlight off Kyle's accident in that race.
Ryan Reed, NASCAR trendsetter?
