Ahead of becoming a member of the Auto Union racing team, Hans Stuck built his reputation in hillclimb events using a very special Austro Daimler racing car.

A super photo of this has just been posted on the Austin Harris internet site of Stuck attacking the top esse at Shelsley Walsh.

It has always surprised me that such an iconic car from pre war German motor sport has never been mentioned more, particularly what happened to it from the early 1930's onwards?

Was it dismantled by the works, did it survive into the late 1930's/early 1940's only to be destroyed by wartime bombs, or...?

Thanks for this link!  The site is very interesting and it gives some great technical details and photos of these cars.

I don't think the car shown as having being restored is the one run by Stuck at Shelsley Walsh though, as the frame front is a different shape.

I also wonder what happened to the time-warp condition TT car which was auctioned a few years back, supposedly bought then by a relative of the original driver from this race?
