Sad news - I understand that Sue Salvadori - nee Hindmarsh - Roy Salvadori's widow, passed away yesterday. Her father John had won Le Mans with co-driver Luis Fontes in 1935, driving for Lagonda. A lovely lady in every sense of the term, Sue of course married another Le Mans winner in Roy...

I had no idea about that relation with Fontes. In any way, R.I.P.

She was a brilliant and beautiful woman and will be much missed. Her conduct during Roy's tragic final state was a model of grace under pressure. RIP...

Sue also did some rallying herself. My thoughts are with her family and friends.

Has someone seen an obituary? Or at least a notice of death?

I would like to supplement her entry in my "Gone but not forgotten" thread with her date of birth and her age.

Reinhard, "Sue Salvadori", was born Nan Susan S Hindmarsh, in Epsom, Surrey, in 1932. Hope this helps.

And also the mother of Sue Salvadori, née Hindmarsh was a prominent racing figure: Violette Cordery, a British racing driver and long distance record breaker, mainly racing along with her younger sister, Evelyn at Brooklands and Monza with Invicta cars. She married Johnny Hindmarsh in 1931 and the couple had two daugthers, Susan (Sue) and Sally.

From Simon Thomas, in Ulster:

I realised I had seen a photo of the girls. I chatted wit Sue a couple of times on the phone around 2004 while waiting to speak to Roy about Bobbie Baird.
