Welcome to submit your entries for the 16th season of PTPC! There's 20 races scheduled, so we'll distribute a lovely 2020 points this season.

This is what you do:
***Post a reply here with your guess on how the WDC final standings of this year will look; there are 2020 (20*101) points to be distributed.

*Points are assigned to specific drivers, not "the second Ferrari seat" or anything like that (meaning that points placed on one driver aren't transferred to his replacement in case of a driver change).

*You can edit your entry as much as you like until the deadline, which is at the start of the first free practice of the first GP of this season.

*Using a spreadsheet to get the points sum right is really helpful, your initial points allocation is likely to add up to much more due to the widespread preseason optimism syndrome.

This is how points are scored:
* For each point over 2020 that you distribute, you'll be penalized one point.

*** You gain one point in the competition for each F1-championship point that you've placed right, which means:
-If a driver has a higher final WDC score than the amount of points you've placed on him, you'll get as many points from this driver as you've placed on him.
-If the driver scores less than you've trusted him to do, you'll only get as many points as he has managed to score.

An example: if players A and B have placed 130 and 150 points respectively on Button and Button scores 134 points in the WDC, the players will score 130 and 134 points respectively for Button. Player A would then on the other hand have placed twenty more points than player B on other drivers, where they may have come to better use.

The competition is open for entries and changes to these until first free practice starts at Melbourne.

This is my preliminary prediction, which is likely to change before the season start:

Driver        Points
Hamilton      401
Rosberg       303
Ricciardo     229
Vettel        191
Massa         173
Bottas        170
Kvyat         135
Räikkönen      97
Grosjean       64
Alonso         58
Verstappen     48
Button         39
Sainz          28
Hülkenberg     27
Perez          25
Maldonado      25
Ericsson        4
Nasr            3

If you think a driver will score zero points, you don't have to put him in your list.

If you think some driver will come in as a replacement during the season and score points, feel free to place points on that driver too. Again: points guesses are not transferred to replacement drivers from the one being replaced!

Good luck!

Bet that's Jordan King, the Manor test driver and son of Manor's new chairman.

The Sauber situation is making me reconsider my bets...

What time US East Coast can I make changes to? The Sauber debacle really messes with my guesses.

This one then, really do not like the Sauber situation, they may partake in anything from 20, 18, 19, 18 or zero Grand Prix's this season.

Hamilton	359
Rosberg 317
Vettel 180
Ricciardo	180
Raikkonen	160
Massa 160
Bottas 160
Kvyat 96
Grosjean 90
Alonso 60
Maldonado 51
Button 49
Hulkenberg 44
Perez 30
Verstappen 20
Sainz 20
Magnussen 11
Ericsson 10
Nasr 10
Van der Garde 10
Stevens 1
Merhi 1
King 1

Best game on the forum, I have done good in the past, I have done poorly more times than good in the past. Good luck to all players.

Onwards and upwards KWSN - DSM soar like and Eagle.

Yes, this is the best, but it's also so darn difficult. And the confusing situations involving at least 5 different drivers at the start of the current year makes it even more complicated.

Last year I looked at tons of stuff out there regarding pace predictions for the year, but my predictions ended up being super average. This year I have a much vaguer idea, but that could even be a good thing. It's hard to know until you know.

I have absolutely no idea what's been going on in winter testing. Hopefully I'm at least using this season's driver lineup!

Here's the winning guess:

Hamilton 375
Rosberg 312
Ricciardo 189
Kvyat 130
Massa 97

Vettel 166
Räikkönen 167
Button 79
Alonso 113
Hülkenberg 67
Perez 46
Maldonado 25
Grosjean 45
Verstappen 27
Sainz 24
Ericsson 3
Nasr 1

Every year, I struggle to keep this to the right number of points. My first draft added up to about 2,800 points.

I decided to take the lazy way out and allocate the Sauber drivers' points to the guys I wanted to give more points to...

M2000-5 has only 2012 points!

MJB5990 has only 2016 points!

M1992-5 and MJB5986 have a bit less than two hours left to adjust their entries for optimal pleasure, just like the rest of you.

More entries are welcome! :)

Agreed, and I've given McLaren and Ricciardo too many points looking at today's session.

There will be more engine failures this season, there will be engine penalties this season, both Red Bull and McLaren are resourceful teams who can continue development as long into the season as they want, Renault decided to wait applying all their tokens, meaning there will be a better than now Renault engine later in the season. Melbourne being Melbourne, think we are all more or less same place as when we made out our guesses.
