Over at f1podium.com we’ve just finished writing up our F1 2014 satirical season review, and it got us thinking about what the funniest moments of last year’s season were.

So we thought we’d put it up to you guys, the esteemed Autosport forumers to tell us what you think (pick up to three options). We’ve created a poll with some of our favourites for you to choose from, but we’d love to hear any that we’ve forgotten.

And if you want to remind yourself of the events of last year’s Mercedes-dominated season ahead of the beginning of the 2015 season, or if you just want a jolly good laugh then part one of the satirical season review is available below. Part two will be posted within the next few days.

http://f1podium.com/the-unofficial-and-not-entirely-accurate-story-of-the-2014-season-part-one/

We’d love to hear what you think!

The hilarity of thinking people will sign up to a website without being able to see what content it has.

Apologies. I believe the link/post should now be viewable. It was a technical issue.

Seems like most people think Hamilton's FP1 issue and Alonso/Vettel's epic clash in Silverstone were pretty epic moments.

I think the team radio from Button at the COTA after he had to wait for K mag to pit also deserves a shout.

Surely it's the Alonso-Vettel whinge fest. It was as if the mics were accidentally left on behind the scenes and suddenly to the whole world they've gone from consummate professionals to complete and utter cry babies.

None of the above. It was the introductions of the nose designs on most of the cars.

No mention of fuel-flow gate and Christian Horner's defence?

'Yes we admit we cheated despite being told to turn down our fuel-flow during the race, but only because we thought your sensor was wrong."

As much as I dislike F1 race control's inability to uphold its own simple regulations this was indeed rather pathetic, and by extension amusing.

Yes, but is that better or worse than "Red Bull Gives You Bendy Wings"?

Abu Dhabi. Alonso in his last F1 Ferrari race. Team radio. Stevens. The end.

:rotfl:

"WHO IS THIS  - he has a lot to learn" (or something similar anyway  :p)

(edited your quote, with all the speculation in the other thread I really don't want to go down that route)

Who would have thought in their wildest dreams back then that only one of them would be on the grid at the next GP - and it wouldn't be Alonso!

Some great moments here, had forgotten about a bunch of these! The video of the Lotus guys cracking up when their car caught on fire made me laugh - sums up their season nicely.

On another note, the second part of our (Unofficial and not Entirely Accurate) Story of the 2014 Season is now up :-)

It wasn't the single funniest moment, but it got me chuckling throughout the season - the McLaren driver silly season.

The Hamilton "I'm a driver" was the funniest moment just for the pure what the hell was the security guard thinking. I also had a read of the season recap and I was a fan of the Bahrain section and Bottas's expression in his respective photos.

Glad you enjoyed the articles.

I agree that the security guard thing was a highlight, it made staying up overnight well worth it   ;)

Strange to think that that's the most popular/funny moment of the season - I wonder how other seasons compare. I guess in 2013 the multi-21/Webber's reaction was funny/awkward. Or some of Kimi's moments, 'yes, yes, yes I know what I'm doing' etc.

I didn't hear it at the time, but Hamilton's irritated 'Oh for ****'s sake' into the team radio on discovering his car had caught fire in qualifying was pretty funny in its understatement.
