I don't know about that. Prize money is $800 million, isn't it? Seems plenty to me before we even get to the millions swallowed up by the big black hole that is FOM.

Plenty!!??

How it is plenty if Ferrari get $160million (including $90m no matter what) and Caterham (or whoever finishes in 11th place) gets $0 !!??  Care to explain!

I think he was saying there is plenty to go around if you redistributed the money.

Exactly like in the economy of western countries: plenty of money to redistribute wealth over all citizen but the top 1-2% runs away with it. Neoliberalism.

After FOM takes their fee, you have about $1.2 billion left for the teams.

How much money should the bottom performing team(s) get, and how much should the top performing teams get?  What should the scale look like?

Do the FIA cap the number of teams allowed to compete?

How does the FIA select new teams entrants?

Can't anyone bring Gunther Schmid (ATS/Rial) and Andrea Sasetti (Andrea Moda) back, they certainly both brought some sparkle to Formula 1?

I only referred to Apple because they're sitting on mountains of cash..

There is no upside for them.  They can do better marketing, less expensively.  In the largest Apple markets and the emerging Asian Apple markets F1 isn't that big a draw.

Well if they plan to open the tender there is probably one or more bidders already.

We had 3 new teams come into F1 in 2010.

Between 100 odd races between them they scored 2 points.

Great return on your investment right there!
