He is polarizing. Like most drivers.
Notice that 23% voted him as their favourite. That still leaves 77% who could be indifferent to him, or dislike him.

I see we have 3 Swedes and 8 Dutchies on the forum...
And?

Then what does that say about Button 7%, Vettel 8%, Rosberg 1% to name but a few?

The same.
All the poll shows is that Lewis has the biggest fanbase on the board. He might also be the driver on the board who is most disliked.
As I said, he is polarizing. He evokes a lot of strong emotion, both positive and negative.

Not at all - I like Lewis and I would definitely say he is one of my favorite drivers but as the poll only allows 1 option I can't vote for him - if I was allowed multiple options I would have done (along with the 2nd McLaren driver, Ricciardo, Nasr and Kvyat , and possibly Checo, Hulkenberg and Vettel (oops, momentarily forgot he is now a Ferrari driver) if I was feeling generous).

Indeed. Hence why I specified "could".
There is going to be a chunk of posters who just like him, without him being their outright favourite.

voted Other/Manor
thought: F1
My horse Kubica is out so I have no favourite F1 driver, but I will be rooting Suzie Wolff, because F1 needs diversity.... shame that Danica Patrick is not attracted to F1
Why Manor? I like their resilience.
Jp yes I am with you re: Hamilton, cant stand that so called friends especially Kim and West

Hard to choose between Kimi and Vettel though, I like them both equally.

Just yesterday, I was walking down the street with my Ferrari jacket on and a guy on a bike stopped for a quick, "Hey I like your jacket"/quick F1 chat.
Years and years ago I was in Oxford and saw someone with some Super Aguri teamwear on. I tried to stop for a quick hey I like your jacket/quick F1 chat but he was really awkward and untalkative and it died quickly. Looking back on it he might've actually worked for them.

Ricciardo/Manor. Only because it wouldn't let me vote for no team. It would be Ricciardo/Ferrari but I just can't stomach Vettel/Kimi as a driver lineup.

I think Giedo Van Der Garde should be added to the poll list now

Nothing wrong with those results (it's impossible to not to like D.R).
But I bloody hate Reddit. The discussion on that place is almost as bad as it is on YouTube.

I disagree, in r/formula1 the discussion is actually alot less fanboy centric than it is on here imo.
As for the rest of reddit, yes, its a cesspool.
I think what sticks out (other than the ric love obviously) is that Red Bull actually have a lot of support when the poll is more global, as opposed to this one which seems to be dominated by british voters.

Fair enough, I have never really been on the F1 sub-reddit. So that could be an exception.
I did notice that every country rated Alonso as the best driver, with Lewis coming in 2nd. The fact that they rated Alonso as the best driver despite him being a distant 4th on the favourite drivers list, does display that they can separate fanboyism from objectivity when expressing their opinions.
So yeah, credit where it is due.

The people who Lewis Hamilton annoys are the people I like to see annoyed.

My votes this time went to Daniel Ricciardo and Red Bull Racing.
Ricciardo I like for his charisma. Red Bull is harder to explain, there is not much difference to me really. I guess I like them for their livery and appreciate all what they have actually accomplished in F1 throughout years.
