- NASCAR's Chase system fails in the way it threatened to fail last year: someone wins the title without winning a single race.
- MotoGP - Marquez is even more dominant than last year, but on the 2016 Michelin tires he loses a lot of his advantage in in-season testing.
- Indycar - Power vs Pagenaud for the title. However, due to the Captain's driver management, it becomes that rarest of things: a clean battle between teammates. Also, Power wins the Indy 500.
- WEC - Audi wins a single race this year, and it won't be Le Mans. Toyota and Porsche have a gargantuan slugging match for the whole season, and the win at Le Mans comes down to a 2011-scale battle between the leading Toyota and the leading Porsche. Nissan is nowhere for most of the season, but they take the front row at LM, however all three cars retire before midnight.
