7 seconds longer in pit than he needed to? How is that even possible?

Great race! I was a bit worried at the beginning that it would be processional, but it all came together at the end. The lack of a safety car really emphasised the need for energy efficiency this time.

Duval, in a car he didn't even drive until this morning, starts 18th, and finishes 7th.
What a drive.
Congrats to Prost and Speed as well, especially

Simply put, that was actually an excellent race.
I think this is serious proof that this is good racing. Pure good racing.
This is good!

Great race impressed with Duval especially coming from 18th to 7th in a car he has never driven before, congrats to Prost and great pace from Speed was not expecting that and he had great power conservation.

Hope Speed stays in for the next races.
He was great entertaining today, perfect energy management and racecraft. Impressed!
And Nico Prost. He's bloddy fast in qualfying, he has an incredible racecraft and energy management, not the first time this season. This man has some serious skills.
I love the energy management part of this race. Without a Safety Car, this factor emerged strong and determined the winners from the losers.

Fabulous! And they made it all the way around without a yellow flag - who would have thought that? Maybe they need to get rid of chicanes... this setup seems to favor the flow of racing. Or maybe just good luck, but it's also refreshing that there were no race-altering penalties this time. The pit stops are still a bit too confusing as far as totally different people suddenly leading the race. Will Vergne and Heidfeld ever score?? Great job by Duval, too - almost no experience in that car at all!

Spot the two Prosts!
Five winners in five races.
Next stop.

1. Sight lines from row 2 on the stsrty/finish straight were appalling. I watched from the top row of the grandstands instead. There are trees lining the straights, so you couldn't see ****.
2. The track is super Mickey Mouse. It was shoehorned into the street plan and it shows. It needs a new layout, or never run the event again. Can't see squat, and the racing action was castrated by how tight the circuit was.
3. The viewing experience in person needs to improve immensely. Besides the poor sight lines, the amenities were lacking. I spent all my money a block away from my seats on a bootleg beer vendor because I don't think they were selling beer at the event. The main straight has bars and restaurants lining it, so some of the stores were selling beers to us illegally. I totally appreciated it. I didn't spend a dime on official vendors...all 4 food trucks that were here. Is this seriously an international event?
4. The VIP grandstands on the back of a yacht were pretty cool. I didn't go check it out in person, but the view seems like it was nice. It gave the event the slightest hint of Monaco feel. Only so slight though. There could've been more, but the promoters dropped the ball. I hope next year is better. PEACE.

Somehow they always manage these edge of the seat races. Wonderful stuff!

An excellent race in the end despite a slow start. Not a particularly good layout, Buenos Aires was much more interesting than this but the end of the race was very much edge of the seat stuff with an amazing drive from both Speed and Duval.
Venturi can't seem to buy a break to save their lives. Sarrazin has a gearbox problem whilst finally having a good race and Heidfeld might as well have a penalty applied automatically at every race, it'll save the stewards some time.

Very strange event. I hope my first F1 race in Malaysia isn't like this.

How much were the tickets?
I got two for $20. Grandstands were sold out at the price of $75 - $100. Complete hospitality packages were available for $200 - $250.

That turned out to be an exciting race. I'm impressed by Mr. Speed.
I'm surprised that some of the teams seem to struggle with the changeover.
Makes me more excited for the screech at the Beach!

Just caught up with this one - more than entertaining enough and much better viewing compared to Melbourne. I don't quite agree with the circuit compaints given that the cars aren't really that quick. Street courses are the way to go for this series for now. Hilarious that Speed out-JEVed JEV.

Yeah I agree, I quite like it as a circuit but think there are elements of it that could be better. It's fine for the cars and their speed, and overtaking was difficult but not impossible as we saw. I don't see why you couldn't modify thing slightly for future events, it's a venue with potential and an element of history/heritage. Was great to see what looked like a decent crowd there too

I watched the race, my first time watching one of these from start to finish. The weather made me miss living there, but alas. Life moves on. Great finish by Prost and Speed! Having attended the ALMS/CART doubleheaders in 2002-3 in downtown Miami, I honestly think this Formula E race had a bigger crowd which I find very surprising. It's a little bit of a shame that they can't have any support events, but I understand that having a Porsche Cup race or the like would be bad for business because it would A) go against the green aspects of the series, and B) they'd probably lap a good deal faster than the electric cars.
