Welcome back guys, that seemed long after Abu Dhabi, practice starts in about 12 hours or so, assuming my memory got me right, that silly clock on F1.com isnt converting my local time, which is GMT + 8 here in Singapore, but oh wells, I know when a session is on by coming here! Thoughts about FP? Merc to come out on top? Mclaren to surprise?

Redbull or Ferrari quickest, Merc and Williams somewhere between 4th-8th until they turn the power on for qualifying.

Ferrari topped a couple of FP1 sessions last year
If they have a better car this year, fair chance they can top a FP tomorrow and get everyone excited - only for a big comedown on Saturday

So happy the new season is about to kick off. Usually the winter break seems to drag on and on but it's flown by for me this time around for some reason. Do I sensibly go to bed in an hour or so and catch highlights at work in the morning? Or do I wake up in the middle of the night and watch the FP sessions and be predictably disappointed in the lack of running?
Guess I'm going to be dragging myself through work tomorrow

On the other hand I'm becoming a lot more disinterested for the first time in 15 years.

I don't think it requires an account anymore? Unless you want the paid version.

There's nothing quite like seeing the cars out on track in Melbourne with the sun shining over there but over here it's silly o'clock but that makes it that bit special. I hope there's plenty of running in FP1 not the usual first 30mins is 0 cars on track.

Got a feed of the driver's press chat - I think lewis has a tad more ink than he used to...
..and Max isn't comfortable...
..Sebastian and Ricciario look like corporate droids...
..Valteri wants to be elsewhere...
...Kevin is having fun...

Max looks like a kid on his first day of secondary school, his eyes and answers show unease and clear nervousness but I guess that's to be expected at 17.

Ok that testing round up was rubbish. it's like she read the first blog she came across.
