I would like to find out more about Keith Hall, contemporary of Cliff Allison at Lotus.

There doesn't seem to be much online, or anywhere for that matter. Can anyone point me towards a source, magazine articles, interviews or anything, Perhaps even provide a potted history themselves! Thanks in advance.

Can not be very helpful other than seeing him compete with a good amount of success, in 500 F3 days driving a Border Reivers,  Cooper Mk 8, at that time I was mechanic /gofor for Philip Robinson also 500 F3 Cooper Mk8/9 competitor would be IIRC 1954/57 I think he then moved on to Sports cars Have you looked at 500race.org website & looked up results ( some times a bit iffy regarding car Mk's )

Desperate piece of trivia: when he was injured in his Crystal Palace accident Keith Hall's treating doctor at the course was an aunt of mine, Elaine Gilbert

Thankyou all. Is there anything about what he has done since the 50's and is he still with us?

I met Keith just a few years ago in the N of England, and I believe he is still with us, there will not be any racing history after 1958 as he came under pressure from his family to return "up north" to the family business. As has been noted before thus probably depriving Lotus of a potentially successful GP driver.

I live not far away and believe him to be a bit of an unsung local hero, it would be great to hear from him or meet him. Missed a chance to meet Cliff Allison in Brough years gone by and always regretted it.

I spoke to Keith on the phone about 12 years ago, I think. He was living on a boat in the North East somewhere. I recall him telling me he would have contested the 1958 British GP in a Lotus 16 if he had not hurt himself in the Crystal Palace crash a week or so earlier. Alan Stacey took his place.

Keith Hall was the previous owner of my Elite which I bought in 1960 and still have.  It was the 1958  Earls Court show car, Lotus sold it to him afterwards and he used it on the road for a year. I wrote to him about the car at the time and in 2011 I rang him on some points of detail but by this time his memory of the car had faded somewhat.  Certainly at that time he was living on a boat, in the Newcastle area I think.
