High legs and low head does not necessary mean non-ideal back shape. Next.
The DW12 has a more upright seating position because high-legs/low-head is a non-ideal back shape.

Didn't Mansell break his back years ago, or is my feeble old mind overdramatising it ?
Phoenix.

Alan Jones told Channel 10 Bottas spent the night at the Alfred Hospital.

I feel the seat needs some adjustments.
The driving position though would be terrible, No way my geriatric bod would cop that.
Even Supercars are pretty terrible. A good while ago I sat in a then current car [Ex Lowndes] that the driver was having back problems with driving. It was not much better!

Probably just a case of not working the right muscles and not driving a race car for a long time real hard.

Bottas is a bit chubby, isn't he? I wonder if that has something to do with the injuries. The cars are much slower than they used to be, I don't think cornering speeds are the issue. Ungainly seating: I think drivers from the seventies and eighties had to put up with much, much worse..

I'm sure Williams would draft in Alex Lynn. After all Suzie is the test driver but that's irrelevant

Unless Mr Wolff has a word

They should add some cushion to the seats.
I agree, I thought for sure there would be some kinda of gel or memory foam there. It seems that would add in a level of comfort that wouldn't be much of a weight penalty.

No next here. Remember what happened to Rosberg when he changed his driving position? He tweaked his neck during testing, missing a day. That's not healthy, they ARE under stress to find an even better position.

No, he has a body of an athlete. Very fit.
However, his head is big and round, and there is something piggish about it, so it leaves the impression of a chubby man.

Well he's by some distance the next most talented driver on their books...
Unless Mr Wolff has a word
...but yeah.

so, we are ignoring 95% of the field who didn't hurt their back on the same track? somewhere there's a statistician smashing his head on his desk.

Chubby? Lol! I would love to see you run a parallel exercise regime side by side with him.

I don't think so. The 2004 cars were probably the fastest ever F1 cars and i can't recall anyone having back injuries after practice and qualifying.
Back injuries can be more than just F1. Even if you sleep wrongly, you can injure your back

Back injury is probably related to the pic of him above and nothing to do with a F1 car.

Our backs are just very unreliable and sensitive things. One person may go most of their life without any back problems, others will have them starting in their teens. Doesn't necessarily mean you've done anything wrong, it's often just genetics giving you a losing lottery card.I don't think so. The 2004 cars were probably the fastest ever F1 cars and i can't recall anyone having back injuries after practice and qualifying.

If Susie had driven in Oz, would she have beaten Button.....even scored points?

Button might have scored with Susie.
