Just wondering if the concept of locking down development of the engine and/or chassis for multiple seasons has even been discussed.

Could be a lock on either or - or both.

In all honesty I would prefer one - perhaps locking engines down for 2-3 seasons, but allowing development on the car.

This of course is any major cost cutting regulations HAD to be implemented.

BTW... I cannot recall a season where the cars were so beautiful - not a dog in there!!!

Engine kind of is. They are 'frozen' but as they are so new there is the chance to upgrade part of the engine each year via a token system, which reduces each year until a complete freeze is in place.

The last set of V8's were supposedly frozen as well (although some engine equalisation was allowed)

Jesus. They should be allowing more development, not less.

ahhh, have I misunderstood a post again

(I miss this way to often :(

I probably shouldn't have done as I initially started with the line - "Are you new to watching F1" then noticed they were a member since 2001 and thought it sounded a bit rude so I deleted it - silly me for not working it out (I think I'm too nice sometimes ;))

All hail the low noses!

Next, they just need a couple of slight reg changes to clean up the tip of the noses and to lower the front monocoque a little.
