So I'm trying to understand how the system is organized.

From what I can gather there are different competitions and classes around the world but they all come together in a race week at Le Mans in early september.
Almost all competitions seem to conclude there, except the top competition, which has it's own finals in Italy later in september.

Then there is this; a traveling world championship which seems to be something ells than the scheduled world championship?

Anyone that is into Karting and understands?

The Wikipedia link you posted is the KF World championship which this year is held in La Conca together with KFJ

The KZ World Championship is held in Le Mans with a KZ2 support race

Besides that the KF, KFJ, KZ and KZ2 have an European championship with several rounds.

I don't understand what it is that you are having difficulty with. RacingElf sums it up but that is fairly self-explanatory.

You can add the World Series Karting, if you want more fun.

There is also the Rotax Max World Finals as well as your various National (e.g. Super 1), Regional and Club competitions.

Indeed! I can understand somebody getting confused with the WSK, I mean how many series do they have? 5? 6?

Hmm, so the KF and KZ are different series?
And the KF has it's own tour except the final is in different places every year?

Lol good lucj. Karting has no system... its more fragmented than you can imagine. CIK racing is almost irrelevant

Really? I thought since they are a part of FIA, then they would be the main karting federation.
Which one is the biggest?

KF is the 125cc single speed automatic class and KZ is the 125cc 6 speed shifter class.

No the World Championship is just 1 event, held somewhere else each year.

I agree with what rhukkas said, there isn't really a system in karting but you could say KF and KZ are the highest karting classes.

I'm not a big fan of the CIK either with all there stupid decisions..but them being part of the FIA that isn't very surprising though

Ah, I see. And who get's to qualify to the World Championship?

(Sorry about the million questions, you're beeing more helpful than Google :) )
The world of karting is indeed confusing. FIA's own site about Karting is all but empty. :/

If I'm correct you don't need to qualify, if you have the right licence and pay the entry fee you are ready to go.
