Between the SCCA, NASCAR and AAA/USAC, there were quite a number of race drivers with the last name Parsons [Chuck, Benny, Phil, Johnnie].

In the late 50s/early 60s two more Parsons competed in the Mid-Atlantic States and the Southeast:
George Parsons; he raced a Maserati A6GCS [reportedly chassis 2079] at VIR Danville in 1959, and a Sprite in the 1964 Daytona Continental.
Gene Parsons; he raced a Ferrari 500TRC [reportedly chassis 0706] in 1960, and a CM class Maserati [possibly a Chevy-powered A6GCS] and a Sprite at Courtland in 1962.
Since both men raced a Maserati and a Sprite, it leads me to believe they were related [brothers perhaps?] or perhaps even one and the same person. Apart from the fact that Gene Parsons resided in Chattanooga when he ran the 1962 Courtland race, no information on their background has surfaced so far.
Anybody with additional information on these two drivers?

RacingSportsCars.com has Gene Parsons as George Eugene Parsons.
On radaris.com I found one George E. Parsons from Salisbury, North Carolina, who earlier resided in Charlotte, North Carolina, and in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
But I'm afraid this man isn't alive anymore because on FindAGrave.com there is one George Eugene Parsons (b. 12 Feb 1933 d. 01 Nov 2000) who is buried in Salisbury, North Carolina.

ReWind,
Many thanks for that! Clearly one and the same driver.
