Just catching up to the story of how this one off went from Juan Peron to Italy to a junk dealer in Grand Haven, Michigan who bought it for $600 without the engine (which was found 40 years later in Wisconsin).

As unearthed here: http://www.ferrarida...nter 3 1952.htm

The junk dealer's grandson says on Fchat.com it was raced in the UK but I find this improbable, with rear skirts this car looks like a dowager's Ferrari at best. Then he says it was raced by Coo-Coo Martin in the U.S., who appears to be a NASCAR type guy  quote Wikipedia:

Marlin earned a name for himself at the short tracks in Tennessee and Alabama, running against Red Farmer, Bobby Allison, and Donnie Allison. He was a four-time track champion at Nashville Speedway USA (now Music City Motorplex).

Coo Coo was a speedway favorite with a lot of kids during the 1960s. He drove a fire-engine red 1964 Chevy Impala, #711" I don't think Coo-Coo would know a Ferrari from a Whippet.

Barchettacc.com, my usual reference , doesn't list any racing. Still it is RHD so there's a chance it went to England. Like to hear if it was actually raced by anyone anywhere and if anybody has a theory on how it got from Italy in '53 to Michigan where its next recorded owner was 15 years later...

PS it wasn't the ugliest Ferrari, that honor goes to Brit body builder Abbott
