Nooo, Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as Dino Ferrari in a funny hat?

So Ferrari to win the titles in whatever year it comes out then ....
Posted 08 April 2015 - 18:57
That sounds very promising indeed. Two of my favourite actors although Eastwood will "only" be directing and F1.

OMG, that would be amazing! Can imagine De niro aged with the old mans' glasses on. And Eastwood on direction?
That would make a possible masterpiece

Used to like Eastwood until he made that awful Sniper movie, which was just a Propaganda flick and was based on Lies.
De Niro as Enzo

This will be advertising for Ferrari as well, but I will probably give it a watch if it gets made.

I think if your a potential Ferrari customer then you already know about Ferrari
Sure, but many potential Ferrari customers buy a Porsche instead

so, deniro can play the old man, but what about his early life in the 30's/40's when he was a mechanic. enzo's whole life is the story of ferrari, not just a fat old man wearing sunglasses.

You can refresh an actor pretty badly to look younger. But also you can hire another actor.

Biopics that try to cover cradle to the grave are generally terrible. Better to choose some significant years and concentrate on that

Whatever happened to talk of that Go Like Hell film, that was supposed to be about Ferrari and Ford's rivalry at Le Mans? Is that still happening?
Posted 09 April 2015 - 13:55
Meh...
Posted 09 April 2015 - 13:58
Hopefully Mehzut Özil will play Enzo on his youth.

IMDb lists it as "in development" with no additional info on the free site so I guess it either happens or (more likely) doesn't. The Ferrari movie has the same status.
...
If they can get Eastwood to direct this, it might have some potential, but looking at the rumored writers, they don't have that many successes on their belt (mainly Ali and Nixon).
Let's just hope it doesn't enter the show business limbo with being rewritten time and time again and struggling to find sufficient financing. Niche areas like (European) motorsports are risky for the movie studios (though Ferrari is a globally known phenomenon) so I'd imagine it might face troubles at some point.

I'm looking forward to it!

I want Nikki Lauda as a character to appear in the film. Wasn't he one of the first drivers to stand up to Enzo ?
That would be Juan-Manuel Fangio, who once accused the Ferrari-team - publicly - of sabotaging his car. John Surtees was no push-over either. So, as much as I adore Lauda, he was not the first one to stand up to Ferrari.
Regarding the movie: that would be the second time De Niro plays an unsympathetic person in a bio-pic (after Raging Bull).

That'll never work. He's got a Mercedes logo on his shirt in that photo.
