Great story about Sam Schmidt driving the Grand Prix of Long Beach course a couple of hours before the race.

That's a brilliant story to read about. Sam Schmidt is a top guy; his commitment to motorsport even after his accident is remarkable, and Schmidt Peterson has had some wonderful results in recent years.

Saw him "drive" that car at Indy last year. What a wonderful mix of technological brilliance and raw human emotion. I was welling up as he got out of the car and was interviewed on TV.

I wish I'd have 2% of his stubborn determination. I am a fan of sports solely because of such stories.
