I think Alonso would easily beat all these 3 in a very troubled and bad car. But in a competitive and car that would suit all of the 4 drivers it would be much closer between lewis and fernando at least.
Who is the best driver currently on the grid?

He'll go down as one of the greats, unquestionably. Well, questioned by some bitter people, but hey, like I said 'those without agendas'.
He has two WDCs - granted - and above plenty of other F1 champions. But he is also by history of F1 most dirtiest driver ever. And I don't mean him being dirty on track, but at shadows: all politics, deals to arrange team mate crash for him, requirements of team concentrating on him, Number 1 driver requirements. etc.

The drivers who are on the list are there because I putted them there and because this is MY thread. If you dont like it open another thread and put yours selection on the poll list.
I think we can all see that.
Anytime you want to take your bat, your ball and your thread and go home home, I honestly don't think anyone will stop you. They'll be too busy applauding...
In the meantime, - Hamilton and Alonso!

As for the poll, I'd go for Hamilton:
I feel like he'd get into any car capable of being close to the front and not need attrition to win. Alonso is a good all-rounder, but I don't remember the last time he had a clean race in a fairly good (not front running) car and won... Perhaps Silverstone 2011, but even then Red Bull had one hand tied behind their back.
If Raikkonen got into a fairly good car, suited to his style, he'd do the same, but I think Hamilton can get into a car and drive around any issues he had with the car and his driving style... That's the kind of quality Schumacher had - his ability often masked problems with the car.

1 season does not undo 9 seasons of brilliance as well. 2014 doesn't hold equal weight against 01, 03, 05, 07, 12 & 13 for a drivers career.
Please refer to all the talk about 2007

You are bitter and can't be objective with Alonso, no need to hide it.
I am bitter, but not because 2014.
I have had zero respect on him since he got away from Singapore incident. His place should have been in jail, not race track.

JB should be on the poll too.
All of them have had their moments at the top. Alonso, Hamilton, Button, Alonso, Vettel, Alonso, Vettel, Hamilton..... My opinion changes based on form, so currently (as the poll asks) that belongs to Hamilton.

It just seems strange to have a poll on the best driver without including all the top drivers. Whats next, "Who is the best driver" with Kimi Raikkonen the only option?

From the RC rules:
Other comparison threads which pit driver against driver for no apparent reason are unwelcome.
