I know that for many here, the events of 21 years ago are too recent for this section of the forum, but I wonder whether the fact that a baby born on that fateful day at Imola would now have attained the traditional age of majority might make it eligible for discussion?  Anyway, I thought I'd like to mark this anniversary of Senna's passing for those who are interested.

It's almost inconceivable to think it was that long ago........

Beginning of each May, I never think of Senna's death.....I always think of Henri Toivonen's passing on May 2nd 1986 [29 years ago tomorrow], probably because I'm more into rallying than F1....

With Senna, Toivonen and Villeneuve, early May is a sad part of the year for those of us with historical motorsport interests.

That whole weekend is still so fresh in my mind, so fresh and it still hurts.

I watched most of ITV's showing of Senna this evening, the last half hour remains difficult viewing ...

Yes, of course. I suspect that the reason he was not mentioned was that he died on April 30th, but even so. I'd also mention Attilio Bettega. I always think of Elio de Angelis too, even though he was later in May, the same year as Henri Toivonen.

Indeed - no disrespect intended.

A day when thousands of others also died, and many under far more tragic circumstances. Senna was an exceptional man but as are we all, destined to die, he had a life far more full than billions of others, we should rejoice in his life not grieve for his passing.
