I'm researching TVR Grantura race history and wondered if anyone had copies of the entry lists for 'Rest' both 1959 and 1960.
In particular I'm trying to find out the driver of No 40 in 1960.
Thank you
Rob

Try a google search for the Bill Henderson Collection, as they have a good gallery of relevant period shots at the Rest etc, so they may be able to help, either directly, or by putting you in touch with someone else who may be able to help

There is a good report for 1960 in Motor Sport but no entry list. I'll see if Pooks or someone similar has a programme. I'm also going to go to the VSCC library to search the relevant Autosports.
Does any other central body hold copies of programmes etc - National Motor Museum? Racingsportscars is a very good source but they do not have copies of all the programmes.

I'm coming to the conclusion that Coffee Bean was crashed in 1960 but unfortunately I don't have complete proof.
Any ideas if anyone has a copy of the programme from 59 and 60 - any Glasgow based libraries.

Sorry can't help at all with Rest and be Thankful, it was Indian country in those days ( ) and now I've become an undesirable alien!
Just an afterthought. Bunty and Averil's son, Humphrey, lives at Basford Green Hall, Basford Green Road, Cheddleton, Staffs. I've never met the gentleman, but Bunty and Averil spoke of him when I visited them in the 60's. Maybe he holds records.

I have replied to this question directly but readers may like confirmation that the driver of the TVR on that occasion was Bill Mackay later to drive for Ecurie Ecosse. He lost it just after Stone Bridge and in my photo here old Mr McTavish the local garage owner dragged the wreckage down to the paddock.

Thank you - I thought it was Bill Mackay in 1960 as reported in Motor Sport. Filby's TVR early years has it as 1959 with Balfour Rombach as the driver, which didn't sound right. Thank you for clearing this up.
Do you know anything about Norman Barclay's Formula 2 climax engined TVR.
Do you know who owns the copyright to the photo - I'd like to repost on theInternational Grantura Facebook page.
Thank you
