Here's an oddity. I have just been looking at several images of Sir John Whitmore racing Fords in the 1960s. Sometimes he wore a blue helmet with a conventional 'Ford' logo on it, but sometimes he raced in a white helmet where the 'Ford' logo was a reversed (mirror) image.
Apart from the fact that he could look in the rear view mirror to re-assure himself that he was .... himself .... what was the reason for this ?
