I find it interesting to see how the cars compare between seasons. Monaco is not the most representative for sure because the engine isn't the dominating factor and of course track evolution and general condition (including oil, rain etc) all have a big effect. This is not a exact science however this is how the stats stack up in terms of quali:

FR3.5
2013 - 1:23.453 (Muller)
2014 - 1:23.209 (Nato)

GP2
2013 -  1:21.141 (Cecotto)
2014 - 1:20.774 (Palmer)

F1
2013 - 1:13.876 (Rosberg)
2014 - 1:15.989 (Rosberg)

Barring any huge changes i.e. dropped oil, tons of rain etc how many seconds will be between GP2 & F1 this weekend?

You would think we might take a little leap this year - maybe get into the 14s in F1 and GP2 will stay where it is?

I'm more interested in whether Manor will be slower than the GP2 pole position or not.

If manor are slower than GP2 pole there's some serious issues even if Monaco is an exception....

Updated with graph. Plenty of voters but no posters.

New surface at Monaco should skew things further between years sadly. There were reports from Formula E that it was indeed grippier also.

Last year Ericsson was last, with a 5.7 second delay. That was 1:21.732

Altough a Caterham, they were slower than last years GP2 pole. So no surprise really if Manor is slower than GP2 pole.

I expect the difference a bit less this year, because Kobayahsi made an 1:20.133

The Marrusia's themselves were both in the 1:19's . So 3-4 seconds to the pole seems reasonable. (But that gap is missing in the poll, so I didn't vote so far)

OT: Hard to believe that it was only last years GP were Bianchi got his first and only championship points.

Manor were slower than the entire GP2 grid in Spain and some 2 seconds slower than the GP2 pole! It would therefore be a surprise if they are faster than the GP2 pole in Monaco!

Why don't you just use seconds? It's easier to compare 83, 81 and 73 than one minute and something times.

Would be nice to see also pole-to-slowest and slowest-to-slowest comparison graphs in addition to the pole-to-pole one, for sure.
