Still got a few left Paul.I should have taken a few more in the paddock but the better half wanted to go for a brew and something to eat.So in the interests of keeping the peace........

Thanks for posting these Eric.
It's good to see some nice classic machines still being used .
Barry.

Hi Barry. There's always a good turn out of Classic machines at Aintree. They run classes for 250,350 and 500's(qualifiers and finals). There's also a Forgotten Era class so there's 8 races for the older bikes. At most meetings there are 50+ Classics and 20 or so F/E bikes.
It's good to see something different like the Ossa and the G.M.S.out there, and at the last meeting there were 2 Norton Rotaries as well.

Ted Cornes

Ted Fenwick whose riding number matches his age.Does anyone know if there has there ever been anyone else still racing at 87 years old?
Posted 23 May 2015 - 18:45
Frank Cope comes to mind but was not as old as that. But he raced and not out on demos. He succumbed age 76 to race injuries which then tightened up race regs. He not only raced here but spent the winter racing in South Africa. He sleeved down a Manx Norton to 250 and raced it many times.
Thanks for the memories,
Roy

I think Arthur Wheeler was 84 when he died and was still competing right up until a few months before he passed away.
