Hi everyone,

Hope this is ok for my first post on Autosport.

Just wondering if anyone has any information on this Sprite MK11A raced in 1968 by my father Kevin Mackenzie (first picture)

and it was sold to David Bentley (second picture) in early 1969.

Car had a cams logbook N913 and NSW rego DCR 105 engine number was 10CGDAH9573. We don't have a chassis number for the car yet.

Any information on the car or the second driver David Bentley would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Scoot

DCR means first registered some time around September, 1963...

I remember David Bentley somewhere along the line, Paul Hamilton is most likely to know about him or the car.

I'll check with Ray English who raced Mk1 Sprites in Oz and also imported Fibreglass fronts during the 60s. He also runs the Sprite Room, the only museum dedicated solely to Mk1 Sprites (which means he has a load of history on MkII Sprites too.

I'll PM you his contact details.

I have just noticed my post 4-5 posts above. That's what happens when you check in on TNF on your iPhone and put it back in your pocket without logging out. My apologies. I was going to add that I knew a David Bentley working in the Design Office at BMC Zetland in the late '60s - early '70s. Most of us there were into motorsport, and many competed. I can't remember if David Bentley ever raced a raced a Sprite, and the driver pictured looks shorter than David who was quite tall, but you never know. Possibly a lead if you're still searching, Scoot.

I had a look at that...

I think the roll bar is wrong.
