How many Jaguar XK 120 C types actually raced at Le Mans in period? My son met a guy in a parking lot here in Topanga, CA who was driving a beautiful C type Jag. I am inclined to doubt it's "provenance" since it has 3 D ell'orto(sp) carbs and an aftermarket Derrington steering wheel. We do see cars valued in the millions of dollars on the street here but….?

Skeptic.

My understanding is that there were 53 or 54 (depending on source) C-Types produced in period. Nine of these actually raced in the Le Mans 24-Hour Race, these being chassis nos XKC 001, 002, 003, 011, 012, 047, 051, 052 and 053.

Gulp!  Dell'Orto carbs and a Derrington steering wheel?  Perlease, do me a favour...
