Reading the latest CAMS speed read there is an article about Tony Ricciardello winning a Guinness record for his eight Sports Sedan Championships.  98 99 01 02 05 07 11 14. All in the one car! The K&A built Alfetta GTV Chev.

Quite an achievement, especially being based in Perth and having to travel large distances to go racing as virtually all the rounds are in the Eastern states. At least 2000 miles away.

And the car has actually won one more Championship than Tony with Brian Smith in 94. All in the ownership of Tonys dad Basil Ricciardello.

I doubt that anyone has won more races yet alone Championships than the Ricciardellos and that Alfa than anyone anywhere. A significant achievement.

Since it is a aluminium monocoque probably all of it. Though the ancillarys have probably all been changed. I cannot remember it ever being really bent though it did have a serious fire last year. It was built bum up to get more air over the rear wing which Basil did not like and Bob Tindall did a deal of work to get it more level. Though not to the tub, just the subframes

The transaxle has been changed and the engine has a LOT more power now.

The car is one of several basically similar monocoques built by K&A. Bernie Van Elsens Bolwell, The Monterosso Escort, The Alfa and the Tony Edmondsen Alfa too. Both of them.

The CAMS speed read got it wrong too saying it was a spaceframe.

I saw the car being built in I guess the late 80s. Some of it was done at Mitchell Pk and it was finished at Dudley Pk

This is the second car,the first one i believe was built from an Elfin F5000 raced by Tim Slaco and is now owned by Leon Magistro in WA.

Correct, the old car driven by Brian Smith was a space frame car. Last I saw of it was with Joe Riccardo, Daniels dad in about 84
