A Truck race?

tumblr_mjmbw83mDU1rcvs63o1_500.png

Great! So we will have the likes of MAN, Daff and Mercedes then?

Podklad_FIA.jpg

Erm... ah, yes, the greatness of english false friends. It's... a diferent kind of truck a bit less... european.

ford-f650-super-truck-xuv-for-sale-zNyS.

And smaller too, more like this:

kylebushmotorsports-banner.jpg

But... that looks like a regular nascar car with the back end sawed off!

giant-chain-saw-destroys-cars-in-russia-

(some sources in Ukraine claim this was what Putin sent to Bernie when applying to the race in Sochi)

Well... yes. But it's a Kyle Bush ca... I mean, truck. So all sorts of mechanical violence is allowed.

(rejoice! he is not in the race!)

Anyway, there is a Nascar race at Texas, yes there is an Indycar race there too with a bloke turned F1 Track expert named Bourdais, but that's in another thread that I have hijacked for advertising purposes.

http://forums.autosp...fficial-thread/

It's got Randolph Scott, you really should check it out.

Ok, so the race is in Texas, why on earth I I have to watch a race on a Friday evening, on a race track with one single grandstand and in freaking Texas?

TexasMotorSpeedway.jpg

Freaking Texas? How dare you badmouth the home of the Superior God Norris?

(yes, it's really him, I checked)

Hold on right there! Your thread is already bigger than the race itself! Why are you doing this?

(remember guys, always buy official licenced products, avoid counterfeits)

Well... it's a truck race and we shoudl always feel simpathy for these banished to Indycar races. Besides, it's got Matt Crafton and Timothy Petters and a bunch of young mindless kids, seriously! It's like watching GP2 but with some blokes of F1 also driving.

MI0001796801.jpg

(except at the end they are punching each other)

There are also optional mini games to be played, "How many laps behind will Cobb end?" and "Who will be last truck to be wrecked by JWT?", you can make up others on your own as you go.

2010-Phoenix-Apr-John-Wes-Townley-inspec

(it's probably still faster than a Macca)

It airs on FOX, which means 40% of race space, which is actually a good thing because you would go crazy after 10 laps listening to FOX, think of it as a gracious gesture.

(isn't this a really lovable punchable face?)

As for who's in the race there is a PDF I found elsewhere:
http://www.jayski.co...s2015lineup.pdf

Race starts in about an hour from this post if my mafia sources are correct.

NEWSFLASH!

Bacon-infused 'Loaded Hawg Dawg' coming to Texas Motor Speedway!

I am notwatching this as 1) things a bit rocky with the lady friend 2) she's taking care of me at her place after I had a procedure done this morning and 3) she ****ing hates auto racing.

I detest NASCAR, but I used to watch the trucks on occasional.  Silly fun!

I dunno why, but I always found them exponentially more entertaining.

Thanks, man.  No this was a procedure on a badly herniated disc.  On the mend, even though gf can't make up her mind about me it seems.

It's kind of an inside joke than on weekends like this, the order is reversed--the main event is on Friday night, then for some reason they run the support race on Saturday night.

To me one of the most fun weekends of racing ever would be trucks + Indy.

Strangely enough, the lady says she hates watching on TV and the only condition under which she'd be willing to watch racing is if we went live.

I wonder where the closes trucks-Indy doubleheader to DC is.

Jones could walk away with the Truck series if stuff didn't keep happening to him. Had a battery issue last night making it like the 4th or 5th race that he's been the class of the field only to lose for x reason.

Is there no thread for the Cup race today at Pocono?

If not,

**** NASCAR.COM.  It's been years, YEARS, and the online experience continues to get worse.  Today I got to open up RaceView or whatever the **** they're calling it these days and I get a message that it's no longer supported in Chrome.  I open it in IE and it's just a blank page.

**** ****ing NASCAR.COM, **** THE HORSE IT RODE IN ON, **** THEIR MOTHER, THEIR KIDS, AND SEVEN GENERATIONS OF OFFSPRING.

Idiots, idiots, idiots.

I just emailed NASCAR.com politely requesting to cancel my subscription immediately and to never auto-renew it and refund my money.  F U C K them so hard.

Well I'm watching Pocono and hoping for a Truex win.

Are there a lot of Sasquatch stories in the Poconos? I loves me some cryptozoology.

Wikipedia says that one was seen in the Allegheny Mountains -- authorities said it was "a bear with a severe case of mange", but they would say that wouldn't they -- and these have been spotted throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

I just love some good local americana creepy stories and local folklore.

Another Harvick/Johnson win would be so weak. Meh.

How was Indycar? I partied way to intense last night so I missed this one. I always seem to miss Texas. And I forgot to make any picks.

IndyCar was crash-free and over in about twenty boring minutes. And I know a lot about twenty boring minutes.

Well they have had issues with deer, chicken, and a drunk fan on the track at Pocono in the past. I think they wound up searching for the fan in a swamp.

Truex finally breaks through. Big picture 10 of the spots are now clinched via wins. Several wild card races coming up (Sonoma, Daytona, Loudon which has a long list of different winners in recent years). And Newman lurking on the edges again in 16th

That sneaky bastard. The winless championship drive is still alive!
