13+ hours to go till race start and this one should have some excitement given that Vettel is starting way back. Here are some questions to ponder while you are at it:

- Will rain play a part?

- How far high up will Vettel finish?

- Can Kimi finally win a race again?

- Will one of the Lotus or FI drivers make it to the podium?

- Can Alonso open his scorecard this season?

- Will Button start?

- Whose brakes will give up first?

- Will we see a safety car?

- And finally, what new plot twist will we see in the Merc drivers rivalry? And who will win?

Have your say and as always I am going with Lewis

- no rain predicted.
- kimi have a chance to win and I hope he does.
- lotus are very competitive and usually they go better on the races, so yes there is a chance for podium.
- we will see.
- there will be a safety car for sure.
- hopefully no plot twists, but I think both mercedes drivers won't finish the race. Kimi to win? depends on start/first laps, weather and strategy.

How could it be very dull race if Raikkonen would win and neither Merc-driver would be on podium?

If Seb makes it past Turn 1 unscathed: hoping for some points.

Expecting a great start from Kimi to hassle the Mercs! For a while, at least; goddamned silver cars are just too quick.

Elsewhere -would be okay with some MAYHEM!

Kimi won 2005 here in Canada, so 10years apart.. Iceman will take this today! Mark my words! Kimi was first in race simulation, now it`s time to make it happen. :smoking:

Hoping Maldonator () doesn`t crash @ Bottas rear in the first turn.

What i really want is tight battle all the way. Lots of overtaking and happenings. Not some boring mary go round..

Have your say and as always I am going with Lewis

-will stay dry
-he will catch up at least everyone until the Merc engined cars. My guess is 4-7 (depending on reliability of the front runners)
-That's Kimi biggest chance because he will challenge the Merc for the first time in this season from the start of the race and with his better race pace he have the opportunity to win. I personally feel that he will ride Merc again in a strategic disaster (benefiting Rosberg to secure the victory)
-I think with potentually good chances of failures and the fact that this circuit suites Lotus an podium is possible. I'm going with Maldonado ;)
-Alonso will not score points unless they will be the Montreal typical drama with lots failures. So I think he will get his first point.
-Button will start (hopefully)
-I'm convinced that the Merc brakes will give up first
-It would be an miracle if we won't see a SC
-Hamilton will dominating again but not winning. I think either the brakes will give up (or other reliability problems) or Merc will riding again an blunder with the strategy because they will feel Kimis pressure.

So I'm going for an finnish victory: Kimi(relatvly normal race) or Bottas(chaotic race) ;)

- Will rain play a part? No.

- How far high up will Vettel finish? P4.

- Can Kimi finally win a race again? No.

- Will one of the Lotus or FI drivers make it to the podium? Yes.

- Can Alonso open his scorecard this season? No way.

- Will Button start? Yes.

- Whose brakes will give up first? McLaren.

- Will we see a safety car? Yes.

- And finally, what new plot twist will we see in the Merc drivers rivalry? And who will win? No new plot twist, Hamilton wins.

As you can see I decided after all this anticipation this will be a dull race.

So watch them create havoc, Kimi winning the race, Maldonado on the podium, Alonso in the points, Hamilton crashing Rosberg out

I wonder if we'll see more people in the wall of champs? Skipping the chicane penalises the drivers quite a bit this year, so I wonder if people will be more inclined to try and wrestle it round

No rain.
Vettel P6.
Kimi won't win.
No Lotus/FI on podium.
No points for Alonso.
Button will start.
Maldonado brakes to fail.
Two SC periods.
No Merc twists, Lewis wins.

Strategy wise for the top ten? Hope to stretch opening stint out, pit for softs and then see if you can go to the end?

If you commit to a two stop too early (Ss, Ss, S) it'll leave you having to chase one stoppers.

You know what, a big part of me would like to see both Mercs and Raikkonen drop out, or else falter in some way, and a Lotus 1-2. Just for something different.

And the biggest question how many cars will Crashjean and Maldonator take out in 1st corner?

With Räikkönen´s luck I bet they will dive in to him so I will go with just 3.

13+ hours to go till race start and this one should have some excitement given that Vettel is starting way back. Here are some questions to ponder while you are at it:

- Will rain play a part? No

- How far high up will Vettel finish? I think he'll recover to 7th - Lotus guys and Bottas will probably build too much of a gap unless it gets eradicated by a safety car.

- Can Kimi finally win a race again? Not today.

- Will one of the Lotus or FI drivers make it to the podium? Wouldn't bet against them jumping Bottas but the podium will be too big an ask without others hitting trouble.

- Can Alonso open his scorecard this season? Not without a spate of retirements ahead of him.

- Will Button start? Yes

- Whose brakes will give up first? I worry about the Lotus and particularly Maldonado since they've already been having brake trouble at other races.

- Will we see a safety car? Yes, and probably for something boring like a broken Mclaren.

- And finally, what new plot twist will we see in the Merc drivers rivalry? And who will win? None, routine win for Hamilton

No rain but Mercedes will pit Hamilton for grooved tyres anyway.

McLarens will fail to impress or fail impressively.

I don't wanna get my hopes to be left disappointed by a lacklustre race.

In an ideal world(for me), Kimi would win, both Mercs would take each other out and we'd have a titanic podium battle between Bottas, Grosjean and Maldonado with a late appearance from one Sebastian Vettel.

And I had forgotten all about Massa. He does have the car to chase down the Renaults and slower Ferrari powered cars.

Massa and Vettel could be battling each other.

Now we get to see what Raikkonen can really do in clean air from the start of a race. Let's see if he's better at it than Vettel.

Still expect a dominant 1-2 for Mercedes though.

Now to be serious: The start will be a little bit the key. I think that Hamilton have stil problems with the new clutch (he was great with the old one I stil don't understand why they change). In Monaco even with a bad start you will stil be first in turn one but not in Montreal. With the fact that Kimi is a good starter we could have the top 3 in reserve order (Kimi-Rosberg-Hamilton) going to turn one. Would be interesting.....

- Will we see a safety car? Hope not

- And finally, what new plot twist will we see in the Merc drivers rivalry? And who will win? No plot twist, Hamsta will win easy

I'm not sure how reliable the Mercedes will be today.

I think Massa will run into the back of someone as karma for all the complaining he has done about Verstappen.

I think Maldonado will do well for a bit and then their will be a car/brain fail and he'll not score any points.

It looks to be a fun race for the Ferrari team: Räikkönen is up there with a good chance of getting on the podium and maybe with some luck keeping in touch with the slower Mercedes. Vettel is all the way at the back with plenty of speed in his car to make it into the points by the end of the race, which requires some on-track action! Hopefully there won't be any rain. F1 can no longer have proper wet races.

Hamilton will probably win. It'd be more of a surprise if he didn't. :p

Safety cars are gonna help Vettel immensely. Just depends on how fast he can get in the top 10 in the early laps.

If all goes well we're in for a treat from Vettel, Massa and Verstappen.

I think we're in for an exciting one.

If not for the lead, there are a lot of things to watch in the rest of the field. Vettel, Verstappen, Massa, they are going to set the world on fire from the back of the grid.

Very curious about what Lotus can do today.

Verstappen with the Renault engine might hit a point where overtaking becomes quite difficult, but yea, Vettel and Massa should tear through into the top 10 in short order at least. That'll be the main thing to watch.

I expect 1-2-3 to be predictable. Not sure why so many people think Kimi has some good shot at winning? :/

Perhaps more a wish than a realistic outcome, at least from my point of view it is. Unfortunately, I think both Mercs are still too far ahead, even in race trim, so if nothing strange happens Kimi should end up in P3.

A nice mixture of wishful thinking, signs of a decent long-run pace by Ferrari in practise, the knowledge that Räikkönen and Vettel have finished ahead of (a) Mercedes car(s) before this season, the fact that Mercedes lost here last year and also said they had problems with brakes in Bahrain, and of course the recent history of Mercedes and Hamilton pulling off one of the best self-defeating moves this side of Abu Dhabi during the last race.

There are some reasons not to completely give up hope, but I'll admit it's a long shot. Mercedes - and thus Hamilton - have to be the favourites for the win.
