That seems to have been enough for me.
But 2011, 12 and 13 sorely tested me!

As a seven year old seeing James Hunt win the British Grand Prix, at Christmas getting a Corgi M23 and then the following year seeing him doing it again (and being allowed to keep it this time).
That seems to have been enough for me.
But 2011, 12 and 13 sorely tested me!
Regards Mike
I think the team has tested all of it's fans. But it has all been practice for this year.

My dad took me to the Grand Prix of Detroit in 1983. I was a young kid. He bought the race program and a few race related magazines that weekend for me to read. One of them had a few pictures of the MP4/1c in it showing off its high tech carbon chassis. I thought the car looked fantastic with its 'wasted' rear bodywork and 'black chassis'. So modern and elegant compared to most the other cars. I fell in love and the rest is history. My parents are both Italian so as you could imagine my dad was and still is a little disappointed in my choice of favorite team.

I always had a soft spot for McLaren, however I became a really big fan of the team when Senna joined. Unfortunately, 2010-2012 undid it all for me.

Mika. I was 11 in 1998 and although I remember watching Damon win in 96 and have vague memories of Mansell I never really took much notice of the teams as such. But I really got into the sport when Mika was taking the fight to Schumacher. We never liked Shumacher at all in my house, probably because of hearing my dad using some colourful language towards him after the incident with Damon along with some good old British vs German rivalry. I did really warm to Schumacher however during his final seasons at Ferrari when Fernando was cleaning up with Renault.
Then Kimi came along and that kept me going with Macca. When Lewis hit the scene in 2007 I found myself a new favorite driver and being a McLaren driver it was a perfect harmony. However after Lewis left the team I realised I didn't really support McLaren exactly. I don't support Mercedes now either I simply support Lewis and a handful of other drivers.
I wouldn't say I view racing teams like a football team for example for whatever reason. Always like to see Williams do well though I have to admit.

Started watching as a kid when Senna was on the team, and then switched to Williams. I couldn't understand how the best driver in the world could have crashed and died.
Then years later I watched the Senna movie and started rewatching a lot of those old races.
So nostalgia and respect for his team I guess. And Alonso helps, he deserves another championship.

DC was why, but had had a soft spot for them since way before, so it was easy to start supporting them.

If only I could be a McLaren fan. If they didn't screw things over so many times I would've been fan already

Because of Ayrton Senna, the MP4/8, Ron Dennis' 'You cut me, I bleed McLaren' spirit, and the fact that they are - or at least: used to be - true racers.

First race I saw was Australia 98'. Didn't really understand everything but had a bigger brother who explained it and was already a McLaren fan so it was logical after their dominant win to be one too. I also liked their color scheme. Really a fanatic I became around 02'/03' when Kimi joined and had his stellar performances.
Apart from that, I like how the company works with McLaren Automotive, McLaren Applied Technologies and the like. They're inspirational, just the last couple of years have been really painful. Still a fan though!

1998 Belgian GP. My first race. Stayed with McLaren until the end of 2007. I was massively disappointed with everything that happened in 2007, I thought actually that my team was unfair to Alonso and I started to support him. Now I am "back" and I am actually very happy about it, I'll continue to be a McLaren fan, even if Alonso leaves the team before he retires.

I've never been a fan of any team.
Ironically, this has changed with McLaren-Honda. With all the **** they're taking (and for a reason) I kind of want them to succeed a lot now.

Mika/DC era .. pure and simple.......

When I was very little it was because they were red and white.
Then later because with Mika and DC they battled against the evil Schumacher.
Now because their OCD culture seems to fit with my own personality.
Brilliant!

I was young, my father supported Ayrton Senna, and I ended up doing so too. I had a lot of McLaren car toys, that I still keep, and I have been a fan ever since, no matter the engines, the sponsors and the drivers. I will always support this team.

So you were never really a McLaren fan then. You were Lewis.Because Hamilton was there.
Not been there since 2013 (or halfway through 2012).
Just realized, my avatar is awesome.
I was always Schuey but never really a Ferrari fan for example.

I became a McLaren fan when Lauda and Prost were both there. When Ron Dennis took Honda from an injured Frank Williams and Senna joined, they became the team I cheered against, especially after 1990. I suppose I started cheering for them again when Alonso went to Ferrari. Now, I wish them the best because they have Honda, Alonso and Button.

Since Honda came on board, any fans have decided to leave?
I honestly pity them where they are right now. I'm a huge Ferrari fan, and i feel for them..

Not really, I was a Mclaren fan way before Hamilton entered F1 but basically did the same thing come the end of 2012.
The team were a joke that season, and it's no wonder many other Mclaren fans gave up on the team that year as well.

Exactly the same here. Not a driver/team man at all but the turmoil they are going through and the delight some are taking in it has me praying for the first pole, podium or win.
Brawn was the last team that sparked a sense of support from me and that was a lot more enjoyable.
