I've never been to an 'oval' with massive grandstands etc.
I'm intrigued and am looking forward to it.
Do they use the complete outer track for anything at all these days? I hope they are keeping it in good order.

The reason why they do not have International Races (other than Canada) is coz ICS is trying to make a jackpot from the international races so that they can subsidies more to the US races.
The Brazilian GP which got cancelled, ICS sued the promoters 27 million. So what was the cost of that Contract? 20 million for the race and 7 million in estimated TV money loss?
ICS is not a product that is worth 20 million to a European venue, even F1 is not.
That was based on Band exiting the contract early. The actual fee per race was more like $5-10 million.

I've never been to Rockingham. But am going in September for the BTCC event.

There are two or three pickup races a year on it and it is used for NASCAR driving experiences too, so well run.
For the BTCC they open the big grandstand to the right of the entrance too. I always sit here, much quieter and you can see almost the entire infield.

They can barely get people in the US to come to some of the dates.
Sometimes I'm thinking they might get more attendance at a European race.
ICS should try expanding to Europe while offering races at the same price as the US venues (which is 2 million) with the additions to travel. They were eyeing Dubai so as to subsidies the series in the US. That is a wrong policy (personally) to chase money rather than fans.
It costs the teams more than flying the equipment to race in Europe. The teams' sponsors care so much only about American exposure, races outside the USA don't make the sponsors willing to pay more, no matter if they race in South America, Europe, or Dubai. So, if they can't race in the USA, they'd better race somewhere where they pay a high sanctioning fee and the series channels the money to teams.
