Everything started there, everything will finish. Welcome to the very last ride of the inaugural Formula E Championship.

Welcome to London's Double Header SEASON FINALE!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Long time ago, in a galaxy far far away

https://www.youtube....h?v=NSvw_A_pW3s

Now Agag's dream has become reality.
Most of the championship is done, from Beijing to Moscow, passing from Long Beach, Monaco and other unknown yet crazy city circuits.

We had 6 different winners, three of them are fighting for the crown.

FE_long_beach_speed_shakedown.jpeg

Ah great! Who are those three lads fighting for the title?

2pod2ec.jpg

NELSON PIQUET JR

Formula_E_Long_Beach_2015_Casco_Piquet.j

Nationality: Brazilian
Age: 29
Career: https://www.driverdb...lson-piquet-jr/

He was surely not one of title favourites. Entered the competition quite late, in the last days of Donington testing.

But the former Renault F1 driver surprised everyone with his stunning racecraft and energy management abilities. Strong podium finishes before the first win in Long Beach, a race dominated from the first to the very last lap.
Piquet Jr. scored in almost every race, consistent and aggressive when needed. Last but not least, won in Moscow and launched at the top of the standings before London.
Particular signs: he hates Lucas Di Grassi

SEBASTIEN BUEMI

Current_E_Berlin_2015_Friday_Formula_E_T

Nationality: Swiss
Age: 26
Career: https://www.driverdb...ebastien-buemi/

Contrary to Nelson Piquet Jr., he was one of title's favourites since the early times, when he was announced as first driver of the e-Dams Formula E Team.
But the first race in Beijing was cathastrophic, crashed in quali and DNF in race,
Then the Swiss started to impress: from dead last to podium in Malaysia and the first race win in Punta del Este, after a long battle with Jean-Eric Vergne and Nelson Piquet jr.

He was going to win in Buenos Aires also, but a silly mistake prevented him from doing the double

https://www.youtube....h?v=RDizs3fed3A

The prestigious pole and win in Monaco gave him another boost to approach Di Grassi and Piquet at the top of the standings.

He's now 23 points from the lead. Can he make it?

LUCAS DI GRASSI

Current_E_Berlin_2015_Formula_E_race_Luc

Nationality: Brazilian
Age: 30
Career: https://www.driverdb...ucas-di-grassi/

He was the first driver to have a taste of a Formula E car, back in the first months of 2014.
He was the first driver to take a Formula E Win, in Beijing, passing through the debris of the infernal Prost-Heidfeld crash.

https://www.youtube....h?v=oFwP8TOMzwo

Lucas Di Grassi was the consistent one. Always managing to get big points, even without impressing on pure speed. He led most of the championship till Berlin.
He won that race, he dominated that race in a glorious fashion, before getting DQed due to irregular aerodinamyc parts mounted on his ABT car.

In Moscow he chased his rival Piquet Jr. till the chequered flag. Now he's 17 points from the lead.

FE_monaco_top_three.jpg

Pretty sure i've seen those faces in another prestigious serie some time ago...good. You said London earlier right?

Yes! We're in for a dramatic Double Header around the routes of Battersea Park, in London's center.

battersea-park-aerial-view-of-battersea-

Sounds good fun, how's the circuit then?

london_original_map_extended-01.jpg

Circuit:
Formula E Visa London ePrix
Location:
Battersea Park, London
Date:
Race 1: Saturday, June 27 2015
Race 2: Sunday, June 28 2015
Length:
2.922km
Turns:
17

https://www.youtube....h?v=Eym-1vudt64

https://www.youtube....h?v=dEZM0zriMCc

This is going to be TIGHT
Big road camber before corners, fast chicanes and a pretty fast first part of the circuit.
Lucas Di Grassi named it the "Macau of the Formula E Championship"

You have to believe him!

Are there new drivers in the line-up?

061815_motor_fe.vadapt.620.high.0.jpg

Simona De Silvestro will join Andretti, replacing Justin Wilson that was replacing Scott Speed that was replacing Marco Andretti that was replacing Matthew Brabham that was replacing Franck Montagny.

I can't wait till next season already!

All in all a wonderful debut for a series that seemed just a marketing gimmick at first. Kudos to Agag for making this work.

And...go Nelsinho!! I can't remember the last time I rooted for a guy that could actually win something  :|

Isn't the Goodwood Festival of Speed next weekend too? Interesting calendar clash if so...

Also, Sakon Yamamoto. Lol. I hope the quality of drivers picks up a bit for the second series.

Yes. And no surprises that Sky's Goodwood coverage clashes with the race

I managed to bag one of the last remaining standing platform tickets, although I'm rather glad I didn't get to choose my spot since I have no idea which spot is going to be any good for watching, so at least I can't blame myself if this one is rubbish!

Rooms are certainly expensive, we're paying some £90 odd for a windowless room near Kings Cross.

That and booking an advance ticket home means I have picked one of the last northbound departures from KX on Sunday evening since I don't know what time we will be finished and out of the circuit.

Still, should be good fun and if it never happens again, we were there

DO NOT PM JON 'POLLACK'

He is a dentist in Boston who gets all my important emails.

Lovingly, he forwards the ones he feels are crucial.

I send him a bottle of champagne every year for Christmas.

Please DO PM Jon Pollak (thegamers23's link is correct however  ) for info on a pub a couple blocks away from the track.

We can use it as a home base before and after the event.

I intend to be there early Saturday to lay the ground work.

I live opposite the park and have watched progress over the last week, the contractors, Spadeoak, have done an amazing job in this time, creating a really credible race track through the park. But my, I agree, it is so narrow in places and the crown cambers on the main carriageways are going to catch the unwary. Montjuic it ain't, but everyone deserves great credit for creating a unique motor racing event in the heart of London. Have booked for Sunday and can't waitl

I'm going! Will be my first motorsport event in London and I hope the first of many to come!

It's a great location. Thankfully live just a 15 minute walk away and used to live right by the park.

I attending the Silverstone Grand Prix two years ago but feel absolutely stoked abut Formula E this weekend. I only live a 15min walk from the park, and can after the race, head to Clapham for a boozy night. Say what you want about street circuits but I'm relishing the convenience and the small cost of just £30 pounds for a ticket.

No (at least not mine yet)  :(

You can print them out now, just log in to Ticketmaster.

They seem to have allocated 'seats' on the stands, but not sure if that is just a technical thing.

Yeah, I logged in last week and they were available (despite them not sending the email they promised they would when they emailed to say they weren't ready a few weeks back). Downloaded mine, but still need to print them.

I'll be going on the Sunday, and bringing along my nephew-in-law. From memory, I've got tickets for the first stand after T12, on the outside of T13. Hoping we'll be well placed to see some great action at T11. Anyone know if the stand tickets allow for free roam as well? Nephew's not very tall, and my shoulders are not up to the task of even a light weight kid...

For those who haven't seen FE before, welcome to the machine! Green is the colour of FE. They are battery powered and therefore environementally friendly to, say, several species of small furry animals gathered together in a cave and grooving with a Pict.

The teams spend a lot of time and money to avoid being another brick in the wall. And they definitely don't want to get outside the wall.

You've obviously been avoiding Croydon, just like Lewis.  They are much quieter than they were back then, but still have bells!

They had a bike race there recently on a town centre circuit.  It was better than almost all of the Formula E tracks so far this year.  Even Lewis might have approved.

Good, fences are quite low, so hopefully will be able to see over the top from the stands. Although I imagine that we won't get to see much more than just a train of cars for a second or two at a time.

'Palace was wider I think-that looks crazy narrow.I wondered how they were going to fit a circuit in-park does not  seem to have changed much since the 50s.

On June 6th, after the Moscow ePrix I suffered a faint as a result of dehydration and extreme exhaustion during the race.

As a consecuence of this faint I had some medical tests done, with succesful results, and at the moment my license is temporarily suspended until the FIA makes sure that I'm fully able to carry on with my sporting career.

My health is safe and I'm in shape, and I'm absolutely convinced I can compete this weekend, but for security reasons we need to delve into medical research. For this reason, together with Virgin Racing, the FIA and the doctors we've decided not to take part in the London ePrix this weekend.

It's a shame because it will be the last ePrix of the season and I wanted to race in front of our fans, but we must be respectful with the FIA's procedures.

I want to wish all the luck to my team Virgin Racing in the last ePrix of the 2014/15 Formula E season.
