Thought I might as well share my latest project with you, and one that I hope many here on the boards will be interested in.

Inspired by the 2013 film Senna, this is my attempt at a film trailer looking at the life of the late Dan Wheldon, hopefully with one day in my head getting the real thing made if I was to ever get any money or financial backing to do so. Most of the time with my videos all I do is essentially take pre-existing videos and re-interpret them into a pre-existing template as it were, so this was the first time that I have ever had to craft the narrative from scratch and it was a new challenge. Obviously a lack of film clips available did limit my attempt to get the thing looking as professional as possible and I am not a professional editor but rather an enthusiastic amateur, but I would like to think it turned out OK.

Consider this part taster vid, part building editing skills and part tribute to a great man. Hope it's OK for you.

Very nice effort.  I'm impressed.

I would only say that you should consider removing the MPAA and Universal splashes in the beginning (unless they've actually been involved - which given your description I doubt they were).  If this happens to start getting traction, or even just a lot of views on YouTube, you don't want to incur their wrath.

Other than that, great job!

Dave

Can I pre-order a ticket? You know, like with Kickstarter, or whatever they call it now?
