Ah, Mazda, the Japanese manufacturer that DID win Le Mans with an innovative car! Suck it up, Nissan!

Interesting comment from Jenson. "I hope to be here for three or four days next year." Presumably that would mean he was free of any McLaren commitments ...

Yeah just came on here to see what people are saying about that, I missed it but got a phone call saying he said it. Pretty big hint bomb he just dropped.

That's jumping to a fairly large conclusion isn't it? It's only four days, on a weekend that never has a Grand Prix.

He preceded that by saying that he usually only managed one day every year, due to other commitments. He has actually attended every FoS since the first one in 1993 - when he was just 13.
I can't actually remember any active F1 driver - apart from Ralf Schumacher, who definitely shouldn't have - spending more than one day at the FoS in any given year. Kimi was there yesterday, Button and Massa today, Nico Rosberg tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised to find that it's something to do with F1 testing regs.

I always love reading that article! Hopefully Button means that he is planning on telling Ron to stuff his commitments, if he wants a pair of top drivers he'll let them go to FoS. And Le Mans as well, and the Revival, and any other event I plan on attending...

Indeed, but for those (who are probably in the majority) who don't recognise it, it's not an oddly-painted Hesketh 308, but the Kojima KE007. Not a car you see all that often ... but even at the time it was usually described as sinister-looking!

Some magnificent cars and some legendary drivers - Petty, Moss, Bell, Surtees. And great to see how enthusiastic guys like Pirro and Moreno are about the FOS.
Jag XJ13, Fiat S76, Shadow-Matra, Lotus-BRM H16, Tecno, Alpine etc etc ad infinitum.
Why would you go to Battersea Park and barely be able to even see a procession of battery powered lawn mowers ?
#48

Did someone say Kojima?

Posted 27 June 2015 - 19:28
And did someone else say Tecno?
(you can see a cheeky Lec poking through in the background)
Another oddity is the March 2-4-0. Max Mosley was disappointed it never worked. I hope he didn't beat himself up too badly about it.
And I'm not bothered about stunts per se, but Mattie Griffin was quite the performer.

Inspired by spaghetti bolognese? Tecno were based in Bologna ...
