John Mitchell entered a TVR Grantura Mk1 in a race in Monza in 1960 (not sure exact date) but DNA. I think John Mitchell then raced a Marcos in 1961. John Heppenstall appears to have been involved with the TVR factory, driving a lightweight Mk2 at Oulton Park in 1961 and competing in a Mk3 at the first Harewood Hillclimb in 1962. I've found reference to John competing recently in historic sporting trials. Does anyone have any contact details or more information.
Also did any members of the Team live in Holmfirth south of Huddersfield - I've found an advert for a Grey 1959 1,100 cc Stage 3 Coventry Climax engined Mk1 for sale in 1962.
I've not found any references for Tony Lanfranchi in a TVR at that time just an Elva Mk6.

OT a bit but I recall that Lanfranc rallied and shill climbed a Minx, his company car from his father's confectionary provision business. He wrote it off, if legend has it right, failing to take a fast right sweep on the way from Horsforth to Headingly. Sadly the thing which arrested his progress was a substantial stone wall. My source was a school pal whose father also worked for the Lanfranc business
Check out Tony's oobit in the car mags, as they tend to cover chapter and verse.

I believe John Heppenstall is a director of J H Engineers out of Honley, Google would be your ally here.

John Mitchell traded from his garage in Honley, near Mirfileld, which is close to Holmfirth. His tuning shop was known as Jonspeed. He raced an E type iirc at the same time as Brian Waddilove, 62 to 64.
