Merc will still walk it, but the order/gaps could be different behind. Silverstone is still something of a power track since its redesign, but not as much as previous tracks.Race over by lap 2 i think
Could be interesting to see the progress of certain teams. Haven't seen a more balanced track like this in a while.

As they say in X-Factor... he really "killed it". I don't mean that in a good way.

Looking forward to Martin's Thursday grid walk.
Meanwhile, let me summarise FP1 tomorow on the autosport live forum, where all the cool chicks and some vest stained fat blokes hang out

June spoiled me, I saw some great racing, drivers battling and swapping positions, displays of talent, and truly exciting action. Anything like this happening this weekend?

Well some of us just celebrated Canada Day and there was some exciting action (Jays win big, Kessel trade). Now I'm looking forward to Independence Day and the associated festivities. Still the highlight of the weekend will be the British GP, even if it does have to compete with the opening days of the TDF. Despite the changes to the track over the years, Silverstone, (along with Spa, Monaco, Monza and Montreal) is one of my fav events. I think there will be plenty of good fights mid-field, but sadly not much up front.

I was reading that the "Formula EJ" was very popular with the kids in London last weekend. Maybe they should have him perform at Silverstone this weekend. Although, I doubt he can top his 2003 performance.

Yea, I celebrated Canada day too, had a good time. I don't mean to disrespect the other teams and drivers, but the prime focus and main talking point should be who will win. But that icing on the cake is taken away from us fans.

Isn't that just timing? i.e the engine they had in Canada (when the upgrade became available) will last till then?
There's definitely a decent chance of a shower on Sunday now. F1 desperately needs it right now

Sadly its receded since yesterday. Current forecast is possible light showers at 4pm.
Its going to be a dire race. I don't know why I'm going to do my usual thing of getting excited on Sunday morning only to have abject disappointment for the 7th time this year.
