Judging from the race results, John MacDonald is a legendary figure in Macau Grand Prix and in the Hong Kong racing scene in the 1970s. However, very little about him can be found on the internet. Are his racing career and results documented anywhere? Is he still in Andorra as some posts on this forum suggest? Thanks in advance.

Not complete by any stretch of the imagination but:

As for Andorra, his linkedin and twitter profile seem to suggest he is still there.

I'd argue there's quite a lot on John on the web relatively speaking, it's just knowing where to look. Searching for "John MacDonald" and "Macau" for example brings up a few more detailed profiles and results.

I'm based in Andorra and I've heard about John MacDonald but have never met him. I've been hoping to bump into him at a social event as I'd love to know more about his racing activities.
I initially thought he was John MacDonald of RAM fame!

I would suggest you try and send a PM to Angus Lamont who is on this forum.
He is a close buddy of John Macdonald and should be able to provide lots of info.

Thank you for your suggestions and links! I did send Angus a message a couple of months ago and there is no reply yet. As for LinkedIn, I just sent an invitation. Hopefully Mr. Macdonald will reply.
fan27: Perhaps you can check the phone directory in Andorra and give Mr. Macdonald a call?
P.S. He seems to use a lowercase "d" in his name. I shall follow this from now on.

A lot of info on John Macdonald can be found in my thread "SE Asian motor racing mystery 1" sometime in 2014 on this Forum.
Also Philip Newsome's book "Colour and Noise : 40 years of the Macau Grand Prix" naturally has heaps of info on the man.
