I realise this may be a(nother) obscure query but does anyone have any photos, particularly of the side, of the metallic silver-blue McLaren Elva as raced by Skip Scott in the Can Am series towards the end of the sixties? Many thanks in advance!

Hi Tim!

Yup, thanks though!

Trying to get a better view of the triangular sticker right of (Union)76 and the red circular onne right of that.

Or perhaps someone can tell me what brands they were?

Also a better image of the Alan Green Chevrolet sticker.

Hi, the triangular sticker is for "Dayco" fan belts..link here..

and I think the other is "RAC" which I believe made  gauges.  found some more info..."Rite Autotronics Corporation" Los Angeles California, started in 1960, they had financial problems in the eighties. not sure if they are still around ?  couldn't find a decent image to post or link, but the logo changed over the years. Jerry Entin who posts here, can probably come up with it !

Alan Green Chevrolet, that dealership in Seattle Washington (state) sponsored a cars in a number of series, "Can-Am"  "Trans-Am" a '67 Camaro, a Cheetah sports racer, and assorted drag cars. the logo varied somewhat, here is a link to decal sheet for the '67 Trans-Am Camaro, the sheet is labelled wrongly in the link.

the script varied, often being in block letters. if you google around, you can come up with some images.

My next challenge is understanding more of what the engine looks like in this thing! Looks like it's been replaced with a cluster of wires! :drunk:

I can't really make it out blowing up the photo, but the distributor was often driven off the front of the engine, depending on whether it was a Ford or Chevrolet. so there would be spark plug wires there. also a lot of other stuff was driven off the front of the motor. fuel injection, oil pump, and all that plumbing would be there. here's a photo of the car from Stardust (Las Vegas) Can-Am 1967. gives a better view of the script on the rear 1/4s.
