Can't say I'm surprised, and it was a good car in fairness, if not an all time great. Of all the outrageous things he's said and done down the years choosing the BT49 as his favourite F1 car is probably quite low down on the list.

He also chose a driver on the same ethical level as himself.

He was always going to choose Rindt, and Alonso isn't really a surprise either.

About the 1988 dream team...I was just reading about the season and I see that Prost outscored Senna, but Senna won due to different point system, how is that possible?I am not too familiar with F1 before the new millenium.

Until 1990 F1 had dropped results. In 1988 for example just the 11 best results counted which was bad for the consistent Prost...

Drivers: Taki Inoue, DRACONE

Principal: Peter Windsor

Car: Lola T97/30

I'd also personally fund a reality TV series based on the inner workings of this team.

Can the T97/30 be adapted to accept a Life W12 engine installation? If so then I'm in.

Rindt - a driver that he first managed

Brabham - his team's car

Briatore - his friend in F1

Nothing wrong with his selection though.

Ah but I think they'd be ok. I think Fernando and Lewis have a high level of mutual respect for each other and they'd be firm but fair. And I placed Lauda as team principle because I know he wouldn't entertain any of the team orders BS and he'd just let them race it out every time. So imho I think it would be an amazing spectacle. Similar in a way to the Mika & Michael battles.

For my time, it's hard to beat Senna and Prost.  I guess the next best thing would be Senna and Alonso.

The Car: McLaren MP4/4

Principal: Ross Brawn

Would it involve a lot of toaster references?  (This is a bit of an inside joke)

Would have thought a Bernie dream team would have included Danica Patrick and Frankie Cheng.  Two major marketplaces nabbed.
