Loved him as an announcer. He might be the best one to cover the sport. He didn't last long after being diagnosed with the inoperable tumor. My only hope is he didn't suffer in the few days he had. RIP.

It happened pretty quickly.  He announced the cancer on the show a month or so ago and said it was pretty advanced and left the show right then.

I remember seeing his Daytona 500 victory and was as happy as when Mario and A.J. won it. If I remember correctly, after his retirement he was still in demand to test cars. I believe he was involved with the testing and equalizing of the cars for the IROC series also. RIP

The voice of Nascar for me. Missed him as announcer since the clowns taken over. Godspeed Mr. Baker!  :wave:
