Seeing how Europeans have taken this U.S. sport to amazing levels, one can only wonder what they could have done with their version of NASCAR using European model sedans.

This is nothing guys, some of the stuff beggars belief. Radial WW2 engine, 5 or 6 drag racing engines on methanol, multiple helicopter turbines like the one above. Search for Dragonfly or something?  Uses something like a torpedo boat engine!  amazing thing when they can get it running.

The Green Monster team (not Arfons though he tractor pulled for years) run highly tuned Packard engines, sound amazing.

And in the superstock classes the guys run diesel sixes running incredible boost pressures that put massive stresses on the engines, these thing rev insanely high for diesels and produce thousands of horsepower!

What is with the one with a hemi in front of a diesel? Is it driving the blower?

The one with the four V8s seemed the fastest!

Yes, the Hemi is driving the blower feeden the two V12s from a T55 tank. Here is thier website in danish. The name is Slædehunden which translates to The Sled Dog.

A bit of 'bling' then. I suspect a standard torquey  medium diesel would drive the blowers the same. They could hide it as a weight!

The tank engines are turbocharged so I doubt they need a Hemi to drive their induction. If you watch a couple of their pulls you can see the Hemi throttles don't open until some way into the run - ie when the extra power is needed.

Lee - what size is the "torquey medium diesel" that can do the same work as a 512 ci blown alcohol Keith Black hemi?
