One could live in hope it might end up like the 'last' Templestowe HC - that went on for about 5 years.

Be nice if they can get Ron Tauranac as a guest of honour. Given he was entered in the first April 51 meeting.

That would be a real shame...

An institution in our sport, really. I wonder if Streak will be there?

Definately the last one.  Its been on the cards for years, but Council have bitten the bullet and thats that.

On a  personal note, the Monday event, which is part of the 'Tri Club challenge' (MGCC Newcastle, Kempsey sporting car club, Tamworth Sporting Car Club) dad has been asked to drive the last run up the hill in his Nota.  I think this will be his 35th Mattara, so he is pretty chuffed.

No, he is off to Baskerville. He is disappointed, but can't be in two places at once.

Dale.

With that link the piece of footage showing a drag race Falcon doing burnouts,, What the hell does that have to do with hillclimbing?

At the start warming tyres yes. But on te run no.

Some events here too seem to be taken over by drifters. Competing a drift car is great, but drifting on a competition events is not.

A most deserving tribute to Pat Goulding, he has been a stalwart of motor sport in the Newcastle area and NSW in general for so many years and most of it with that long suffering Nota Clubman

I have to agree, Dick...

But if Streak could have been there he should have had the second last run.

A few from King Edward Park on the weekend.

It was a hot weekend, but a great way to bring Motor Sport to the people. It's a shame it will be the last event at the venue.

one of the advantages of being the top pit marshal is you can get good track access !!!
