Hi Joan,

I don't know much about MMRT, but Max Moritz was a Porsche dealer from Reutlingen. As far as I know, Max Moritz was his real name. The logo was just the obvious play on Wilhelm Busch's two famous characters.

Well, famous in Germany, Wolfgang! Most people unfamiliar with German children's literature wouldn't understand the 'joke'. (But then most of the world thinks Germany doesn't do humour ;) ) The parents of one of my teachers gave him the forenames Christopher Robin - which is probably fun until you're about eight!

Wikipedia suggests that Manfred von Richthofen named his dog Moritz in tribute to the story: https://en.wikipedia.../Max_and_Moritz I'd guess Caracciola did the same? Rudi and Moritz:
