Some teams seem to expect all the necessary tools for success to be handed to them.

When the necessary tools are handed to them, sometimes these teams succeed and sometimes they don't.

That's fair enough, the competition is tough. But they don't like it if they're not given exactly what they want.

It would be interesting to see how their management fared if all, not half, the responsibility for failure was at their door.

If I'm a team owner buying engines, or any component, of course I'm going to expect to get the best.

If Renault built a Mercedes like engine, and Red Bull built a dog costing Renault wins/championships, do people think Renault would sit silent?  That if that became two seasons in a row, Renault wouldn't start to consider maybe they need a better 'premium/works' customer?

I dunno, what did Renault say in the early years when Red Bull could barely score a podium?

They were probably more concerned with the works team they operated during that time.

One thing when they are just another customer versus the lead team.

If my wife broke as many promises, and performed as badly as Renault, she would have been divorced well  inside the 2 years!
