Brian Scott has a handle on this place- would be nice to see a win after past heartbreak.

This weekend was the one thing I liked about the Chase when there were 10-12 drivers involved. Most years there was some drama with a name like Gordon, Stewart, Busch etc. getting eliminated. now that 16 are in not so much, though I guess there's the possibility of an upset winner

Just thought I would buy Jp a drink. He seems a little lonely in here.  :smoking:

Gibbs continues to roll, owns the top 4 now. Kenseth and Edwards mixing it up like old times at Roush (which must be nostalgic for a top 20 driver...)

Toyota might as well give up if they don't win a championship this year

Watch them win the first nine chase races and lose to menard or McMurray. It would also be ironic if Gordon finally won the chase with this mediocre season after losing 4 best full season points to the new formats since 2004.

Five drivers who qualified outside the top twenty finished the race in the top ten. How 'bout them apples?

Two of those were Gordon and Junior. Maybe, just maybe, the Hendricks boys used Richmond as a beta test for their Chase secret weapon.

I live close enough to the track that I heard the engines on Saturday, otherwise I would have forgotten that NASCAR is in town. I'd actually like to try to go next year just for the experience. How did the crowds look on TV?

I'm big into cycling and our little city is preparing to host the UCI world championships beginning this weekend, so I've had my head buzzing with spandex and shaved legs rather than race fuel. Next year that won't be an issue.

Wait, Clint Bowyer is in the Chase? Pfffffff.

And Newman again. And Menard, hah!

At least I am ok with Gordon and McMurray.

Now that the Chase is on, will there be more action in the Napcar threads pretty please...

I'll do Chicago, that city has some fine black metal. And they're the Stanley Cup champs.

We need some damn hype for the Chase, even if it is the Devil.

I gotta say, I actually like the idea of the Chase, I guess I wouldn't otherwise watch the last 10 Sprint Cup races. Though IndyCar's early finish forces me to find something to fill the void in Sunday evenings.

Sparse. You shouldn't have much trouble getting a ticket.

Anybody willing for a Chase Grid Challenge game? NASCAR.com links to the these two:

http://fantasygames....m/chase/#/picks

https://gridchallenge.nbcsports.com/

The nascar.com one allows creating own leagues, I couldn't find that in the nbcsports.com one.

I did a "Mario Andretti Experience" thing at RIR last year given to me as a gift, they gave me a ride in a 2 seat "indy-style race car" around the track. Very fun, actually. No idea how fast we were going, but it gave you a good idea of just how strong the cornering forces are on a banked oval. I was surprised how smooth the track surface was.

Could just start one thread for the chase.

The Harvick Johnson dustup is actually what this series needs, some semblance of a rivalry between big names. That's been a staple of nascar success in the past, and lacking during this period of relative disinterest

Of all the Gibbs cars to win, Hamlin I figured was the least likely. Standings has gibbs top 4 with at least Denny going through.
