Jail if they find him

He didn't seem like a demonstrator or anything. He looked kinda lost to be honest. WIll probably turn out that he was there in error and there was a total failure of security at the track.

There were open, unattended gates next to spectator areas.

I'm wondering if perhaps he wasn't quite all there in the head. I mean, obviously you'd have to be a bit daft to walk onto a race track with cars that exceed 300 kph, but maybe he had a mental illness or something and wasn't fully able to comprehend his surroundings?

Major security breach if this is the case.

He didn't seem all there, but I'd guess just a bit drunk or on something and not fully aware of his surroundings.

Is that a nice way of saying he was pissed?

He has been order to walk barefoot across a room full of legos - and not the flat ones, the brick ones!

He could be drunk; I was watching the entire race on one of Singapore's FTA channel and it all seemed quite strange;  :rotfl:

On a more serious note, that's the second time this season this has happened. Not just the guy, but the race organisers need a serious wrist-slapping.

Looked very much to me like he'd somehow managed to wander there by mistake - didn't look like he was making any sort of point or anything. I suspect more a failure of track security than anything malicious on the individual's part.

Oh, that's great. I'm looking forward to the extensive reports on this matter at Formula1.com and FIA.com.

Didn't steal the safety car; didn't push over marathon runner. 1/10 would not recommend to anyone.

The English really do not travel well..
Case in point.. My wife flys out to Barbados, injures her hand while setting up sun lounger near pool.
Berates staff that they should have a warning on the sun lounger...

I mean really..

Not a good sign if the sound of F1 cars going full beans next to him didn't make him sober right away.

What really* annoyed me was that he was referred to as a 'fan'. At a street race, the circuit is surrounded by a lot of people who couldn't care one iota about frigging motor sport and probably regard it as an annoyance.

*slight exaggeration.

You're a lucky bastard. My wife would have called me and blamed me. She's not english though, but a former citizen of a commonwealth nation.

I should point out that's a standard marshal entry point you'd see on all tracks, the gates should just be shut if there is no marshal around.

I'd love it if he was just off his face after an all day drinking session and completely unaware of what he did...

...then when he wakes up tomorrow morning and he's told what he did, he'd be like "whaaaaaa?!"

Well yes, that's the bit that made my eyes bulge - the unattended wide open door. I get that there needs to be entry/exit points along the track for all sorts of reasons.

As an aside, this was published on the BBC in April after that guy ran across the track and tried to get in  the Ferrari garage:

Formula 1 bosses will investigate how the tight security measures, which are imposed at all races, were breached.

A Ferrari spokesperson said the man headed straight for the team's garage, but did not make it inside after he was stopped on the threshold by two mechanics. He was then handed over to security and then the police.

http://www.bbc.co.uk...rmula1/32247300

How'd that review go then guys.

Everytime we had a lunatic on track, a Ferrari went on to win the race.

Interesting.  :p
