6, boring, poor coverage, Hamilton thumped the field as if Singapore never happened.

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton
Worst Driver: Daniil Kvyat
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Rosberg on Bottas
Best Moment:Start
DRS + Tyres: tyres are too hard, one DRS is ok.
And the race in a sentence: quite boring, not much action. I gave 7 because I like the track.

Best: Nobody really...

Worst: Kvyat, but Perez and Massa were poor as well. So was Sainz.

A very poor race. 1/10

A 7? Are you high? A '5' is a 'barely passable'.

I'd give it a 3. We lost any chance of an actual contest with Hamilton going offline to run Rosberg off the track at turn two, we didn't get an onboard of it at all, the coverage was politicised beyond belief and there's almost no point in watching anymore because we're not going to see a straight fight between the two people in cars that can actually race each other.

However, hard to say as I rarely saw anything else than the fight for 12th.

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton
Worst Driver: Don't know, but very disappointed in the Williams-drivers' lack of racecraft.
Best Team: Mercedes
Best Overtake: Ham on Ros.
Best Moment: Kai Ebel apparing on stage (he's the F1 village idiot, but I love his total lack of dress sense).
DRS + Tyres: I hate DRS.
And the race in a sentence: I didn't quite pay attention as I found Chris Nixons book "Racing the Silver Arrows" far more interesting.

Not terribly thrilling, but some interesting bits in there as usual. I guess I enjoy F1 enough to where I can appreciate those other minor fights.

2/10

Best Driver: Hamilton
Worst Driver: Ericsson
Best Team: Mercs
Best Overtake: Hamilton on Rosberg
Best Moment: Alonso making fun of his PoS McLaren
DRS + Tyres: Awful as always

And the race in a sentence: I fell asleep about 3 times i think. F1 is in a sad sad state. Fast drivers puttering around in slow unreliable cars.

Rated it 5/10. It was an average race with no exciting contest for the top spots but enough action further down to make it interesting.

Best Driver: Nobody really stood out and everybody finished more or less where I'd expect them to (Pérez and Massa being the exception - for obvious reasons).
Worst Driver: Rosberg. What happened after Spa-Francorchamps 2014? Since then his 'battles' with Hamilton are almost embarrassing.
Best Team: Mercedes, obviously. I was tempted to mention Ferrari for their stunningly fast pitstops, but it's doing the stop at the right time is more important.
Best Overtake: Nothing really comes to mind. I thought Pérez overtaking Ericsson might be my pick, but it turned out to be relatively easy.
Best Moment: Alonso's lengthy defense against the Red Bull Federation was a good watch because of the different strengths of the cars.
DRS + Tyres: DRS into Turn One has ruined a once iconic corner. The drivers apparently had a lot of complaints about the tyre pressures, but at least they weren't falling apart.
And the race in a sentence: I hope the Japanese fans had a good time; they deserve it. What a great crowd.

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton.
Worst Driver: Marcus Erricson.
Best Team: Mercedes.
Best Overtake: Rosberg on Bottas (but in all honesty, none of the few overtakes stood out...)
Best Moment: Alonso's team radio.
DRS + Tyres: DRS - I've got nothing. Tyres - bring back the tyres that allow the driver to push the car to the limit, enough of this conservation bull!
And the race in a sentence: One of the best race tracks, great crowd too, but the race was totally boring, no fight at the front, not even a bit further down the field, with few exceptions.

I gave it a 4/10. Imagine having battles for 1st like in MotoGP someday... it would be a blessing for F1! One can always dream...

It happens sometimes that after good 7-8 opening laps that it is fallen into procession, but usually it is going until the last few laps and sometimes even in the last turn.

Worst Driver: No-one really had a standout bad day IMO
Best Team: Mercedes, Lotus also maximised their package nicely
Best Overtake: Rosberg on Bottas
Best Moment: Hamilton vs Rosberg at the start
DRS + Tyres: About right

And the race in a sentence: Normality restored.

I gave it a 6/10 but that's maybe generous.

The race might have been a 7/10, but the coverage made it look like a 4/10. There was allegedly a fairly close battle for the podium positions, a battle that involved a car that suffered from an engine problem and that must have been fought through a whole lot of traffic? Well, Bernie TV didn't want people to look at that, so all I can say is thank you very much for wasting my time on an early Sunday morning.

Best Driver: Lewis Hamilton
Worst Driver: Will Stevens, for spinning @ 130R
Best Team: Lotus
Best Overtake: three really good ones - I liked Max's pass on Alonso most, followed by Nico's on Bottas and Max's on Sainz

Best Moment: see above
DRS + Tyres: DRS not too bad this time, tyres still Pirelli

And the race in a sentence: It's a good thing that Verstappen always produces entertainment.

A mild 6.

It was pretty dreadful stuff, and I missed the first hour. F1 is facing an existential crisis in the next few years and Bernie's key priority is to politicise the coverage. Just pathetic.

Lately, this has been the case. Marquez not being on the best bike helps a lot.

But that is not how MotoGP 'usually' is, looking over the years rather than just this season.

True, this season is exceptional good. But also last year we had many great races even on the top, just that MM always won.

However that is offtopic now...

Gave it a 5/10.

What's funny is that objectively speaking, the race was better than Singapore - it had more overtakes (including for the lead) and much more on track action.

But so much of racing depends on external factors like the championship battle or team politics. Actual on-track racing is just one part of what makes a race good and fun to watch.

Best Driver: Verstappen or Hulk, both recovered well from their penalties to earn strong points finishes.
Worst Driver: I guess Kvyat, suffering from a brake issue throughout the race didn't help his cause though.
Best Team: Mercedes, they got the result that their cars should always be getting with it's pace.
Best Overtake: Rosberg on Bottas
Best Moment: Start was fun, but the race went pretty stale afterwards.
DRS + Tyres: Nothing of any interest here as far as I'm concerned.
And the race in a sentence: Dull, and sadly Rosberg isn't showing much fight for this championship.

Please rate the race objectively and not based on your favourite drivers result!

Can someone please explain me what has Hamilton done in this race to be considered the best "Driver of the Race" when compared, for example, to Hulkenberg coming from 11th to finish 6th or Verstappen coming from 18th to finish 9th.

Little correction: Hulkenberg started even just from P13 (he got an penalty) and Verstappen from P17. In Hulkenbergs case you can critzise his start crash with his team mate maybe. In Verstappens case I didnt really saw something negative. Same applies to Hamilton, who couldnt done any better than he did (maybe you can critizise his start move a bit), so I can understand it if people are choosing him as the driver of the race, but for me its an uninspired choice in the end as he barely did something.

Best Driver: Verstappen, Alonso
Worst Driver: Sainz (stupid mistake into pit-lane wrecked his race and some-how managed to finish behind his team-mate who started at the back of the grid).
Best Team: Mercedes - Their strategy got them a 1,2.
Best Overtake: Rosberg on Bottas
Best Moment: ummm, the start?
DRS + Tyres: :(
And the race in a sentence: Thank goodness for Verstappen starting at the back to add some spark to the race.

I am not replying to you in particular, i just quote the first post because it clearly stated: rate objectively.

I counted 12/13 posters who had Hamilton as the best driver of the race. Just asked because I (and assume most of us) did not have a chance to see much of Lewis during this weekend. So must have missed some brilliant moments during the race that made it such an unanimous decision.

About that comment of yours: "Same applies to Hamilton, who couldnt done any better than he did (maybe you can critizise his start move a bit),", I am sure I can say that about two or three drivers every weekend and none of them are ever rated as best driver of the race. Unfortunately they don't have a Mercedes so they are not given by default at least a podium every single race. For all I know, one of the two Marussia drivers is maximizing the car every single race. Does that deserve a 8, 9 or 10?

But this is the problem of this threads: I am sure that if it was Williams or Ferrari dominating, the best drivers of the race would be Vettel/Kimi/Massa or Bottas with one or two exceptions.

But I guess it has become that normal already that a lot of people don't even think he''s worth mentioning anymore.

Well it is simple, Mercedes rarely gives any action, Verstappen is almost always action. Force India is often good for action too. Besides that Maldonado is either fast or doing something stupid so often is a good one to watch.
