It looks like the FIA will allow the teams just to run 4 cars. So that could have an effect of Carlin for example.
What could the grid be like next season?
I think Prema Power will have the top guys from Italian Formula 4 at the F3 team, so Ralf Aron and Guanyu Zhou.
Same will be the case at Carlin, but Callum Ilott could stay. They also want to run Pedro Piquet.
I hope Maini and Lorandi will stay at Van Amersfoort. Joey Mawson could climb up the ladder.
Piquet could also have a run with Hitech as the Piquet family and Hitech worked together in GP2 some years ago.
Prema Power: Dennis Olsen, Ralf Aron, Guanyu Zhou

Van Amersfoort: Arjun Maini, Alessio Lorandi, Joey Mawson

That does seem suspect... especially when you consider how much faster the Prema cars in particular were over a race distance.

#9

Pure guesses.
Neither Schlegelmilch or Dienst will drive for ArtLine full time. Diesnt will want a decent seat & Schlegelmilch was just in it to test the car; he's a 27 year old GT driver, he won't be spending money on a seat in F3.
Same situation as Sims, who won't do a full season, he's just the experience HiTech needed to enter the series & get the car running well. Gilbert wouldn't come back to F3 either.
I could go on.

Yes I follow testing but I understand that Prema Power will run two experienced driver and one of them will be Stroll again. And two rookie drivers and I bet that are going to be Aron and Zhou. Both tested for Prema Power as well. Günther is the only driver who is not safe, could also be Lorandi for example.

Ticktum won't be in F3 for a while. He lost his racing licence for crashing into a competitor deliberately under full course yellow conditions: http://www.autosport...t.php/id/121941
#27
Posted 24 November 2015 - 11:33
Yeah, passed 10 cars under SC as well as numerous coloured flags/boards and deliberately crashed into another driver. I know he's young so plenty of time to learn from the mistake, but he should consider himself lucky the punishment wasn't even harsher.
#28
Posted 24 November 2015 - 11:47
Championship stewards excluded Ticktum from the Silverstone meeting, taking the Fortec driver to 12 penalty points and an automatic three-month ban after also committing a six-point offence at Croft earlier in the season.
A shame he didn't learn from the first time (he was disqualified from all races at the Croft weekend).

That really makes me question whether everyone is entitled to a second chance. That isn't just any 16-year-old temper tantrum. Surely no team in any series will ever want to hire him again.

"The report found that Ticktum ignored 13 yellow flags, four double-yellow flags, two white flags and 15 safety-car boards to overtake 10 cars and catch back up to his rival during the safety-car period, before making contact."
Bye bye racing career...
That's excessive even by 12 year olds on a console standard.
Bottas at Mexico is how you should do it if you're angry at a rival.

Not sure if it has been mentioned before, but it seems Verstappen and Rosenqvist triggered some modifications in the sporting regulations:
Eligible drivers:
4.3 No driver may participate in the Championship without successfully completing an FIA training programme, details of which will accompany the entry form.
4.4 Drivers participating in the Championship must have at least one season’s experience in singleseater racing (or any equivalent substantial experience). Any decision as to whether a driver has the necessary experience will be made at the absolute discretion of the FIA.
4.5 No driver may participate in the Championship for more than three complete seasons (more than 80% of the Competitions in any season being considered a complete season).
4.6 No Championship winning driver , other than any winner of the best Rookie title, may compete in a further Championship.

Is that going to mean a kid could do a year of something like Ginetta Juniors at 14 as an equivilant single seater season then still jump to F3 at 15? (although the last two notable 14 year olds in Ginetta Juniors - Norris and Floersch - either went F4 or are going F4 so it's not something that's likely to affect 2016)
