I wonder why this chap's head is SO far above the level of the original rollover hoop? Is he very tall? I'm afraid I didn't catch sight of him out of the car. All credit to him for the helmet, the face mask and the overalls, though.
And why is the nose cone on the Revival car taller and well, ugly... compared to the car in period?

British Racing Greensleeves
Albatros 1 - just plane curious
Albatros 2
Norwegian DC3
Sorry to say the lovely Albatross replica had an engine failure on its way back from France and ended up on its back in a field. Happily the pilot is ok and the aircraft not too badly damaged.

Gary, it doesn't explain the difference in driver height above the rollover hoop but I suspect the car nose variations are mainly due to the different focal length camera lenses used to photograph them. Compared with the original, the Revival version looks quite compressed overall, suggesting a 300mm or 400mm lens as opposed to (pure guess) a 105mm or shorter to capture Clark in motion.

I hate to contradict but the nose opening of nowadays 49s is definitely different from the original, the opening is deeper with more vertical sides and not as elegant......

It looks like a different rollbar to me. Plus, it would not be difficult for the driver pictured to be taller than Jim Clark (or most other pro racing drivers).

Also, I feel the need to defend the A35 race. The Saturday edition saw some quite restrained and skilful driving in terrible conditions.

I though the A35 race looked like a round of the BTCC. Great driving as such but much prefer a David and Goliath type battle.
Lotus 49:
Same car - well chassis number anyway.

I didn't think there was anything to defend! I am in total agreement about Saturday's race - despite being soaked to the skin by then, we were smiling from start to finish and the driving was exceptional too.
Who'd have thought a one-make historic race could be interesting and/or entertaining!

And A30s can powerslide in the wet. And yes they did quite well in bloody awful conditions.

My contribute to the thread...

...is it me, or, after taking off that yellow shirt, leather hat and goggles, his face would look like Nuvolari's?!?
...already missing it...

I cannot post it, but it looks good. I suspect the rest of us were pleased with our efforts. Such an opportunity.

In Saturday's very wet Brabham Tribute, Stirling Moss drove an ex Kangaroo Stable Aston Martin DB3S. Whether you were lucky to be present or viewing by livestream, he was seen carrying a bit of extra ballast.

I am just happy that our old clunker ran well and gave us no problem at all... what a great time we had!

Got a bit carried away this year, so separate albums by race.

None of that paddock and pretty ladies frippery here, just good honest racing cars and bikes
Really enjoyed wet Saturday - wearing the right modern gear I might add - started the day at Woodcote and worked round to Madgwick the long way. Love shooting the bikes and TT cars at St Mary's. Sunday very sunny and bright, this time clockwise.
Enjoy !

^ Autosport: good luck in finding that via the search.
Same problem on google
Anyway we had a great time, we might have been in the tail-end charlies but enjoyed every minuet passed Mike Gosbell in the Nota seven times through the corners and he still got to the line if front - maybe thats because we are the only one running a Standard/Triumph or is it the 68kg over the weight limit or maybe bit of both (or more likely it is the driver is not a quick as once he may have been!).
