It was Roy Pike and I believe it was 1966 (at least the articles appeared in Road and Track in '66)--I have been thinking about those articles lately and will dig them up and scan them (assuming I can find them...). I can PM them to you once I've gotten them scanned.
I believe there were 3 articles, one with details of his racing season and one about the financial aspects of his season and I don't remember the subject of the third article. They were very interesting reading--particularly on the cost side.

The articles were in Road & Track May and June 1966, and were by Cliff Haworth, entitled Racing in Europe. Part one 'So much to learn' part two 'The cost of racing' Cliff stayed in Europe until the early seventies, when I understand he died in a road crash.

Argh! Mike is right, of course. The two articles (not three...) were by American Cliff Haworth and his 1965 F3 season with a Brabham BT16 (an F2 fitted with an F3 Cosworth MAE engine). May and June, 1966 Road & Track.
I should have time to scan them tomorrow.

OK, I've scanned them but they are jpegs so are quite large and separate files. I'll see if I can use some work software to convert them into pdf files. But, I'm happy to send the as jpegs if you have space to receive them.
